Arita Power releases new Three-phase power factor correction module

—— Y-MPFC-440-3PH400-LE ——

Arita Power (yottapwr.com) announces the launch of its new Three-phase Power Factor Correction Module (Y-MPFC-440-3PH400-LE). The module meets marine standards , which require all phase currents to be balanced to within ±5% for ships. The 440vrms MPFC takes balanced input current from the source to within ±2% and provides a non-isolated 5kw output at 400 Vdc. The module also features active power factor correction with slight hysteresis, and when it is coupled with the MACF-440-3PH-UNV-MP AC line filter, the system can obtain a near-perfect sinusoidal current from the source (PF>o.99) with a near unity power factor, even at loads as low as 500w and input frequencies of 60 Hz. The MPFC has a total harmonic distortion of less than 2% at output powers above 1.6 kW; the module has a power conversion efficiency of up to 97%; and the 440 Vrms “delta” input-connected PFC can operate at frequencies as low as 47 Hz and as high as 800 Hz, making it easy to operate in a variety of settings.

The three-phase PFC module is designed specifically for marine applications, but can also be used in ground-based systems. This sealed design is used to meet the shock, vibration and environmental conditions specified by industry standards. In addition, it can provide full power within a wide baseplate temperature range (-55 to 100°C).

The PFC includes various status signals, an RS-232 serial interface, an output PEC Enable control pin, AC_GOOD, DC_GOOD, START_SYNC, and "Battle-Short" pins. Detailed statistics of the converter can be accessed through the 9600 baud serial interface. The module's output can also be enabled or disabled through the "PFC_Enable" pin. The module provides AC_GOOD and DC_GOOD control signals, allowing designers to quickly evaluate the status of the module. By simply interconnecting each output and the START_SYNC signal, up to 10 units can be paralleled for higher power.

The START_SYNC signal ensures that all units in parallel start up in a synchronized manner, allowing them to power loads exceeding the maximum rating of one unit. The 'Battle Short' pin allows the user to override potential shutdowns due to over-temperature or input phase drop events.

Features:

• Balanced load current for three-phase power supply
