Littelfuse ITV4030 Battery Protector Provides Fast Response
Prevent overcurrent and overcharging damage
Designed for consumer electronics applications including tablets, robotics devices and power tools
Beijing, China, May 17, 2022 – Littelfuse, Inc., an industrial technology manufacturing company committed to powering a sustainable, connected and safer world, today announced the launch of the new ITV4030: a series of 22-amp, three-terminal, surface-mountable lithium-ion battery protectors.
ITV4030 Battery Protector
These 4.0 x 3.0 mm devices protect battery packs from overcurrent and overcharge (overvoltage) conditions. The innovative design uses embedded fuse and heater elements to provide fast response and reliable performance, interrupting the charge or discharge circuit before the battery pack overcharges or overheats.
The ITV4030 battery protector is ideal for use in a variety of data communication interfaces in consumer electronics, including:
• Tablet
• Power tools
• Robotic devices
• Electric bikes and electric scooters
• Emergency radio and electronic calling
“The ITV4030, a 22-amp rated device, expands our ITV line of lithium-ion battery protectors, providing more options for electronics designers,” said Stephen Li, global product manager at Littelfuse. “Our expanded portfolio of three-terminal surface mount battery pack protectors enables us to offer these innovative solutions for a wider range of applications.”
ITV4030 offers the following key benefits:
• Fast response time and low internal resistance help prevent battery pack damage from overcurrent and overcharging.
• Surface mount design simplifies automated printed circuit board assembly process.
• UL and TUV certifications help gain approval to meet industry compliance requirements.
• Environmentally friendly components are halogen-free and RoHS compliant.
How it works
In the event of an overcurrent problem, an embedded three-terminal fuse cuts off the circuit. Once the IC or FET detects overcharge, a heater element embedded directly below the fuse element generates enough heat to blow the fuse.
Availability
The ITV4030 is available in tape and reel packaging with a minimum order quantity of 5,000. Samples can be requested through authorized Littelfuse distributors worldwide. For a list of Littelfuse authorized distributors, visit Littelfuse.com.
