SCHURTER introduces the MSS slim metal switch, a flush-mount pushbutton with a stylish design and a very shallow installation depth. The MSS switch features a multi-color indicator on the side ring, which provides users with visual feedback from the side in addition to the front. Due to the increased coverage, the lateral status can be indicated, which may be particularly useful for observing the switch status from a distance. In addition, models without indicators are available, which provide visual indication through a colored border.
MSS switch technology Providing exceptional precision, it is designed for applications that require a certain amount of pressure to trigger the switch function. The whole design is just right: advanced capacitive technology can be activated with just a light touch, while mechanical technology has moving parts that will wear out over time. There is also the possibility of foreign matter intrusion with moving parts. MSS switches only require 1-3N of pressure on the switch surface to activate the switch, which can prevent unintentional touches. The switches are IP rated to IP67 and can complete more than 20 million actuations during their life cycle. Whether it is used for home doorbells, medical products, laboratory devices or industrial equipment, this series of compact switches can be customized with 8 different bezel housing colors and a wide range of RGB lighting colors. Diameter sizes include 19, 22 and 30mm. And because the installation depth of this series of switches is only 8mm, they are very versatile and can be used in applications with limited installation depth, such as door stops and tightly packed housings.
The maximum switching voltage and current are 60 VDC and 100 mA . The operating temperature range is -40 to 85 °C. The switching function is momentary (MO/NO) or latching (LA). Made of stainless steel with impact resistance class IK 66, the MSS actuator is very robust and suitable for demanding applications.
