More compact and flexible – always focusing on modularity and miniaturization
The new Han® solution combines optimal transmission density, space-saving installation and EMC-shielded signal transmission
Espelkamp, November 24, 2021 - Technological progress and development in the industrial sector have been significantly influenced by the trend towards continuous miniaturization and modularization, which means that there is always a demand for new solutions and products. The HARTING Technology Group has now created new modular and miniaturized solutions and will make great strides in the field of "heavy-duty" industrial connectors.
HARTING has developed a new model for the Han® B standard: The Han® L32 B gives industrial applications greater flexibility in choosing the right rectangular connector. The new Han L32 B allows users to replace two 16B interfaces, saving more than 40% of installation space. As the motto "less is more" suggests, power, signal and data transmission can now be achieved using fewer interfaces and fewer components, while also reducing the time spent on interface assembly. Many applications such as robotics will also benefit from the weight reduction achieved by subtraction. All of this brings more added value to customers.
The Han® L32 B housing provides space for a Han E® insulator with 32 pins (16A/500V) or a Han-Modular® articulated frame that can accommodate up to eight modules. The new format not only makes room for an articulated frame with the most module slots, but also maximizes the density of the Han® modular connector. Using the large number of existing Han-Modular® modules, users can combine the perfect interface for almost any application.
Save installation space – HARTING modules offer new shielded transmission options
The M12 module is a new addition to the Han-Modular®programme. Two X- or D-coded connectors can be installed inside each module. This makes it possible to integrate, for example, 10 Gbit/s Ethernet into the modular interface in a particularly space-saving way. Compared to conventional RJ45 solutions, the new M12 interface from HARTING is more robust and reliable. All common bus systems including Profibus, Profinet, CAN, as well as Cat.5 and Cat.6 Ethernet can be easily adapted*.
Han®Shielded power modules are space-saving and easy to maintain compared to hard-wired shielded power cables. The module is equipped with three power pins (16A/400V) and is suitable for connecting devices such as variable frequency control drives. In addition, a new EMC shielded module for signal transmission is now available: through large-area shielded transmission and 360° shielding plate, Han®Shielded Module Basic can not only ensure good shielding, but also achieve high-performance transmission in a compact installation space. It can be plugged with up to 27 4A/32V shielded D-Sub pins.
Description: Han® L32 B is available in a variety of housing models: upper housing with top or side outlet, as well as matching accessories and lower housing
Caption: Han® Shielded Power Module can be used for power transmission (including 3x power, PE, signal, and shield transmission) in modular connectors that meet EMC requirements.
Description: New member of the Han-Modular®programme: M12 format. Each module can be equipped with 2 X- or D-coded connectors.
