Excelsys modular low voltage power supplies simplify system integration and enable rapid development of mission-critical applications requiring high reliability and performance
Shanghai, China, October 22, 2021 – Farnell, the global distributor of electronic components products and solutions under Avnet, is now stocking Advanced Energy’s Excelsys low-voltage power supply product series. The Excelsys series of modular configurable power supplies can meet the needs of various advanced engineering applications for high-performance and high-reliability solutions. The Excelsys product series also simplifies system integration, helping to speed up design and development, thereby shortening time to market.
Advanced Energy's high-efficiency power supplies feature extremely high reliability and high power density, making them suitable for mission-critical applications such as clinical diagnostics and dialysis equipment, medical lasers, radiography, and a variety of medical equipment designs such as clinical chemistry. Other industry uses include test and measurement, industrial machinery, automation and audio equipment, printing, and telecommunications. In addition, fanless natural convection-cooled power supplies are suitable for noise-sensitive laboratories and medical environments, as well as broadcast, radar, and communications applications.
The Excelsys power supply range available for quick delivery from element14 now includes:
• The UltiMod series UX4 AC/DC modular power supplies offer high reliability and high efficiency (up to 91%), low noise, greater flexibility and lower cost. The Ux4 has an output power of up to 600 W and can be installed with up to four powerMod modules with no minimum load requirement.
• The CS1000 series is the latest range of “fanless” power supplies from Excelsys. The CS1000 single output power supply features an open frame U-shaped cavity design with convection cooling up to 1000W, effectively eliminating noise interference in scientific and medical applications. The CS1000 series is ideal for applications that are vibration sensitive or where fan cooling is not available.
• The Xsolo series is developed specifically for medical applications. It delivers 504 W of convection-cooled power in an open-frame U-shaped enclosure and 1008 W of convection-cooled power in an enclosed fan-cooled chassis. The Xsolo series combines high efficiency and reliability in two compact package designs to meet a wide range of application requirements.
• The CoolX family of modular configurable power supplies offers 600 W and 1000 W fanless power supplies, as well as an 1800 W fan-cooled power supply that delivers best-in-class power density.
o CoolX600 is a convection-cooled modular power supply that delivers up to 600 W of power in an extremely compact package without the need for fan-assisted cooling. The CoolX600 power supply is not only powerful, but also performs well in terms of efficiency and reliability.
o CoolX1000 adopts a compact U-shaped cavity design of 259.5 mm x 164 mm x 40.6 mm (10 in x 6.5 in x 1U), with an output power of up to 1000 W and no need for fan or baseplate cooling, effectively avoiding noise and vibration interference. CoolX100 is very suitable for applications without fan cooling.
o CoolX1800 intelligent modular power supply adopts compact 1U package and has an output power of up to 1800 W, which is about 50% higher than the industry standard.
Simon Meadmore, Global Interconnect, Passive & Electromechanical (IP&E) Product Director at Farnell and element14, said: “Advanced Energy’s Excelsys power supply range is a perfect addition to our power supply portfolio. These ready-to-use power supplies feature market-leading technology, best-in-class efficiency and extreme reliability, and offer an extended voltage and current range, making them an ideal choice for system designers. Excelsys modular power supplies can be configured to suit their requirements, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming custom designs, significantly reducing time to market.”
