Vishay's new thin-film chip resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified, rated up to 2.5 W, and feature excellent moisture resistance
Precision resistors are available in 1206 and 2512 case sizes with TCR as low as ± 25 ppm / ° C and accuracy of ± 0.1 %
MALVERN, Pennsylvania — September 15, 2021 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced a new series of high-power thin-film wraparound chip resistors, the PHPA series, that are AEC-Q200 qualified. Available in 1206 and 2512 case sizes, the Vishay Dale thin-film PHPA series resistors are rated at 1.0 W and 2.5 W, respectively, and use self-passivating tantalum nitride resistor film technology with excellent moisture resistance.
In addition to industrial test and measurement equipment, the devices released today can also be used in automotive power supplies, braking systems, on-board chargers, and motor deflection circuits. The resistors have high power ratings, low absolute TCR of ± 25 ppm/°C, and accuracy of ± 0.1%, meeting the precision performance requirements of the above applications.
The PHPA series devices have a resistance range of 10 to 30.1 k, device noise less than -30 dB, voltage coefficient less than 0.1 ppm/V, and an operating voltage of 200 V. The resistors use a high-purity ceramic substrate and have an enlarged pad on the back to reduce the thermal resistance between the top resistor layer and the PCB solder joint.
The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and flame retardant to UL 94 V-0. The device operates over a -55°C to +155°C temperature range.
Samples of the PHPA series resistors are available now. Production quantities are available through distributors with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks.
