Mouser Now Stocking HarwinKona High-Reliability Power Connectors
Ensure reliable power connections in harsh environments
June 8, 2021 – Mouser Electronics, an authorized global distributor with the latest semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking Harwin's new Kona high-reliability power connectors. The rugged connectors can carry 60A of continuous current per contact, eliminating the need for multiple contacts to split the current when supporting battery charging applications.
The Harwin Kona connectors distributed by Mouser feature a fully gold-plated six-finger beryllium copper contact design with a pitch of 8.5mm, and each contact of the male and female heads is individually wrapped to prevent accidental contact and physical damage. This series of connectors is designed for use in harsh environments, relying on a rugged wire-to-board design to maintain electrical continuity even in severe vibration and shock. The female housing is equipped with stainless steel butterfly screws for easy repair without the use of any tools.
The Kona connector also features an innovative "engage before lock" mechanism that ensures that the contacts are fully engaged before they are engaged and fixed. The connectors are rugged and can achieve 250 plug-in cycles, a wide operating temperature range of −65°C to 150°C, and a maximum rated voltage of 5kV.
Kona power connectors are available in single-row two-contact, three-contact and four-contact options and are suitable for a variety of applications in harsh conditions, including power control systems, robotic drives, electric vehicle battery monitoring and management, satellites and drones.
