Smart home appliances use integrated wiring technology, network communication technology, security technology, automatic control technology, and audio and video technology to integrate facilities related to home life, build an efficient management system for family schedules, improve safety, convenience, comfort, artistry, and achieve an environmentally friendly and energy-saving environment. The most commonly used applications are intelligent control of lighting, water heaters, air conditioners, intrusion monitoring, smoke alarms, video surveillance, and curtains.

Comparison between wired communication control and wireless communication control

  (1) Wired control

The structure of wired control is to place the controller in the strong power box, and the switch and the central control host are controlled by the weak power control line respectively. Wired control adopts wired communication technology. Advantages of wired control: safe and stable, free from interference; Disadvantages of wired control: high requirements for scheme design, high requirements for line installation, and difficulty in later expansion and modification. This method was widely used in the early stage of smart home development. It was transformed from industrial control and was mainly suitable for large-scale commercial places and other places with centralized management by dedicated personnel. It was gradually replaced by wireless communication.

  (2) Wireless control

Wireless control uses wireless communication technology to control the equipment. Advantages of wireless control: simple installation and wiring; Disadvantages of wireless control: poorer anti-interference performance than wired control, signal coverage is affected by buildings.

The main advantages of using WiFi technology in smart homes are: WiFi smart nodes can be directly connected to wireless routers to access the Internet ($68.6000)  ; no home gateway is required, and nodes can be expanded at will; it will not damage existing decoration; smartphones can perform local area network control and remote control. Of course, WiFi technology also has its disadvantages compared to ZigBee and 433 MHz radio frequency communication technology: high power consumption and high price. However, with the introduction of energy-saving technology and the improvement of chip technology, power consumption and price issues have been gradually resolved. Given that WiFi modules are standard configurations for laptops, tablets and smartphones, smart homes based on WiFi technology will gradually be promoted and applied, and the market prospects are broad.

  WiFi socket control circuit design

Design Tips for Smart Home Appliance Circuits Based on WiFi

Circuit principle: When the module receives the close command, the PC8 port outputs a high level, Q1 is turned on, current flows through the relay coil, the relay contacts L_IN and L_OUT are closed, and the socket supplies power to the load; When the module receives the disconnect command, the PC8 port outputs a low level, Q1 is turned off, the relay coil has no current, the relay contacts L_IN and L_OUT are disconnected, and the socket is powered off. The above is just an example of a WiFi socket to describe a smart home based on WiFi technology. If you want to realize other functions in smart home appliances, the implementation principle is similar. For example, to realize remote video monitoring, you only need to change the socket to a camera and realize the corresponding software function.

As people's quality of life improves, the concept of intelligence will become more and more popular. However, the cost of adopting a full set of intelligent systems is very high, and it is also very troublesome to renovate the houses that have been delivered for use. With WiFi smart sockets, you can easily achieve intelligent control of home appliances without the need for a home gateway or destroying existing decorations. You can build a smart home based on WiFi technology by yourself and experience the convenience brought by technology.
