China, May 27, 2014 - The STLUX™ development environment integrates a demo board, a graphical interface configurator, software libraries and compilers, providing all the hardware and software tools designers need to develop high-performance LED lighting systems for the STLUX385A, the first product in a new series of LED lighting controllers from STMicroelectronics that uses groundbreaking ST digital control technology.
STMicroelectronics' plug-and-play demo board has all the features of the STLUX385A, and the onboard user-friendly ecosystem can set the PWM waveform through 6 on-chip SMED (state machine event-driven) digital controllers. SMED is an advanced hardware-configured state machine that automatically triggers state changes due to external or internal events, so the response speed is higher than that of traditional interrupt-driven microcontrollers. In addition, the STLUX385A also supports smart grid connection and DALI [DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface): A lighting system that meets global industry standards. ] Remote control communication protocol is suitable for energy-efficient lighting systems used in smart cities.
Designers control the STLUX385A controller in the STLUX development environment through a serial data line and console. The SMED graphical interface configuration tool simplifies innovative topology design, maximizes the performance of the controller at full load, minimizes power consumption in standby mode, and achieves high-quality dimming functions with high current control accuracy. At the same time, the development environment also provides ready-made application routines.
