There are many ways to determine the windings and their beginnings and ends of a three-phase motor. For example, using a light-emitting diode is simple, easy, safe and fast. The judgment connection circuit is shown in Figure 1.
(1) Determine the same-phase winding: connect two batteries in series, and then connect one pole of the LED to the other pole of the motor according to the polarity, and the other pole to any tap of the motor. The remaining taps touch the other pole of the battery respectively. The one with a bright LED is the same-phase winding.
(2) Determine the beginning and end of the winding: First, connect one end of any two-phase winding of the motor, and connect the other two ends to the two poles of the light-emitting diode. Connect one end of the remaining phase winding to the negative pole of the battery, and the other end to the other pole of the battery. At the moment of connection, if the light-emitting diode lights up, then the positive pole of the battery, the negative pole of the light-emitting diode, and the other end of the winding connected to the positive pole of the light-emitting diode, as well as the beginning or end of the winding, can be determined at once. If it does not light up, you can try again by changing the battery electrode or the winding connector. If the light-emitting diode does not light up no matter how you change the connection, you should check the battery, light-emitting diode, and each connector until it lights up.
