After I bought 150 LED lights, the switching method of those lights when they were working attracted my attention, which inspired me to make a screen that can change the display of text, pictures and other effects. Finally, I designed it as a front and back dual-screen device, the effect is shown in the figure.

Step 1

First, I need to print out what I want to engrave on the plexiglass board. In this case, it is my friend’s name. I engraved her first name on the front and her last name on the back.

Then use a marker to draw a preset pattern on the plexiglass plate, then turn the glass plate over and draw a picture on the back of the glass plate (the side without the film).

I also found some reference text for this, so I did the same thing. I don't know why, but in reality, when the board is lit, the engraving effect on the back is much better than on the front.

Step 3

Start carving (I'll talk about the tools here. The author uses a mini punch drill, which is usually equipped with a special head for grinding, or a broken drill bit, or a long drill bit.

The next step was to install these LEDs in the limited space. I only had 96 LEDs available at the time, so I found an MDF board to punch the corresponding holes.

After inserting 96 LED beads, it doesn't look very beautiful, but it works very well. The beads are arranged neatly and perfectly correspond to the glass plate.
