The ADM1275 is a highly integrated hot-swap controller and power monitor for 2V to 20V input supplies. The new controller/monitor offers the highest power monitoring accuracy in its class, with 0.7% current sensing accuracy and only 20 mV insertion loss. The ADM1275 accurately measures input power, allowing the system to take intelligent actions to reduce power consumption. The device improves system reliability, limits inrush current at power-on, and shuts down faster in overcurrent events. Overvoltage and undervoltage monitoring of the backplane voltage ensures that the board only operates when the backplane voltage is within the specified range. The new device also supports current and voltage readback via a 12-bit integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) via the PMBus interface.
