The FAN5365 is a 6MHz, 800mA/1A digitally programmable step-down regulator with excellent dynamic performance, high efficiency and small footprint, making it an ideal complementary product for system engineers designing PMICs.
The FAN5365 has excellent transient response performance while consuming only 40μA of quiescent current in light load high efficiency PFM mode. For larger loads, this regulator will automatically switch to a fixed frequency 6MHz PWM mode, allowing designers to use low-cost small chip inductors and capacitors. The FAN5365 supports load currents up to 800mA or 1A, and also provides a pin-selected two-level output voltage or I2C Bus interface programmable output voltage, adjustable in 12.5mV increments from 0.75V to 1.975V.
The FAN5365 supports a wider Li-ion battery voltage range from 2.3V to 5.5V and provides advanced protection features including short-circuit current limit protection, thermal protection and undervoltage lockout.
The FAN5365 is available in a 1.27mm x 1.29mm 9-bump WLCSP package and is the smallest 6MHz DVS step-down regulator available today. It is up to 40 percent smaller than previous solutions, making it an ideal core processor power supply for single Li-ion battery-powered devices such as smartphones, ultra-mobile PCs, tablets and wireless broadband hotspots.
