Lithium iron phosphate batteries are used as lithium-ion secondary batteries. Their main application is now in power batteries, which have great advantages over NI-H and Ni-Cd batteries.

1. Ultra-long life

The cycle life of long-life lead-acid batteries is about 300 times, and the maximum is 500 times, while the cycle life of lithium iron phosphate power batteries is more than 2,000 times, and can reach 2,000 times with standard charging (5-hour rate). Lead-acid batteries of the same quality are "new for half a year, old for half a year, and maintenance for another half a year", which is only 1-1.5 years at most, while lithium iron phosphate batteries can reach 7-8 years under the same conditions, which can be said to be "lifelong". Taking all factors into consideration, the performance-price ratio will be more than 5 times that of lead-acid batteries.

2. Safe use

Lithium iron phosphate completely solves the potential safety problems of lithium cobalt oxide and lithium manganese oxide. Lithium cobalt oxide and lithium manganese oxide will explode under strong collisions, posing a threat to the life safety of consumers. The most distinctive feature of lithium iron phosphate is that it has undergone rigorous safety tests and will not explode even in the worst traffic accidents.

3. Capable of high current 2C fast charging and discharging

With a dedicated charger, the battery can be fully charged within 40 minutes at 1.5C, and the starting current can reach 2C, which is not available in lead-acid batteries.

4. High temperature resistance

The peak electric heating temperature of lithium iron phosphate can reach 350℃-500℃, while that of lithium manganese oxide and lithium cobalt oxide is only around 200℃.

5. Large capacity

The lithium iron phosphate power battery produced by Kunshan Zhengguo Energy Technology has a driving range 3-4 times that of lead-acid batteries of the same quality. Its advantages allow electric bicycles to run more than 100 kilometers on a single charge at a moderate weight. For office workers, a single charge can last about a week. For electric bicycles equipped with lead-acid batteries, the maximum battery capacity is 12Ah (the weight of the lead-acid battery is 13 kg at this time, while the weight of the lithium iron phosphate battery of the same capacity is only 5 kg), and the maximum driving range is about 50km on a single charge.

6. No memory effect

If a rechargeable battery is often fully charged but not fully discharged, its capacity will quickly drop below the rated capacity. This phenomenon is called the memory effect. NiMH and NiCd batteries have memory, but LiFePO4 batteries do not. Regardless of the battery's state, it can be charged and used at any time without having to fully discharge before charging.

7. Small size and light weight

The volume of a lithium iron phosphate battery of the same specification and capacity is 2/3 of that of a lead-acid battery and its weight is 1/3 of that of a lead-acid battery.

8. Green and environmentally friendly

Lithium iron phosphate batteries do not contain any toxic or harmful substances and will not cause any pollution to the environment. They are recognized worldwide as green and environmentally friendly batteries. The batteries are pollution-free both in production and use. Therefore, the batteries were included in the "863" National High-tech Development Plan during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period and became a project that the country focuses on supporting and encouraging development.
