It can be said that every development detail of the projector is ultimately a matter of technological innovation. With the rapid development of the display industry, projectors are getting closer and closer to people's lives. However, for ordinary consumers, whether a projector can be popularized is not only due to its expensive "price", but also the consumables, life and price of the bulb.

In fact, the "practicality" of projector technology, in a sense, determines the pace of projector market expansion and even affects the future development of the entire projector market.

With the continuous innovation of projector technology, users' pursuit is also constantly improving. Almost all users hope to have a projector that can realize special functions in different occasions to meet special projection requirements.

In order to better demonstrate the charm of projection, make demonstration projection truly shine, and bring a colorful future to people's work, study, and life, various manufacturers have launched a number of high-tech projection technologies in order to win a larger market share. These technologies are used to realize various personalized projection functions, and gradually make projectors develop towards intelligent and humanized.

1. Password protection technology

Although the price of projectors has been falling again and again, the price of a projector with stable performance is still over 10,000 yuan. Therefore, protecting the safety of the projector to prevent others from using it at will has become one of the topics that projection users attach great importance to.

In order to meet the wishes of different users, many projector manufacturers have launched password recognition protection technology for projectors. This technology is used to ensure the safety of projector use to the greatest extent possible and prevent other illegal users from using the projector at will without permission.

According to the different protection objects, password protection technology can be divided into three types:

The first is the "Startup Protection" type. When using this type of password protection function, you must enter the password before operating the projector in all cases, otherwise the operator will not be authorized to perform any operation;

The second type is the "User ID Protection" type. When using this type of password protection function, the user ID of the projector can only be changed after entering the correct protection password;

The third type is the "timed protection" type. Once this function is activated, the projector can be specified to work within a certain period of time. If the projector time exceeds this range, the operator must be forced to enter the pre-set protection password before operating the projector again. This function is particularly suitable for projector rental business.

Currently, there are many projectors with password protection functions. For example, the Sony VPL-PX40 projector uses a "startup protection" type of password protection function. Once the power-on password is set for the projector, each time you want to use the projector, you must first enter the correct power-on password. If the password is entered incorrectly, the projector will not be able to display the projected image; therefore, even if someone steals your projector, the projector still cannot be used without the power-on password.

2. Plug and Play Technology

The so-called plug-and-play technology means that after the projector is connected to the computer , there is no need to install the driver program or make complicated settings for the projection parameters. The projector can automatically identify the connected computer system and automatically adjust the relevant parameters of the projector according to the light in the projection environment to ensure that the projector can project a clear picture normally after the physical connection is completed. With plug-and-play technology, the threshold for using a projector is greatly reduced, and any novice user can learn to use a projector in a very short time.

At present, most projectors include plug-and-play functions such as automatically adjusting the output brightness of the bulb according to the ambient light, automatically monitoring the input signal source of the projector, and automatically switching and tracking settings according to different signal source types. It can even automatically adjust the working contrast and color temperature of the projector , ensuring that the projection user can obtain a relatively satisfactory projection effect without setting any parameters.

Of course, as projection technology continues to mature, the plug-and-play function of projectors is constantly expanding. For example, many models of projectors can now automatically perform keystone correction according to the hanging method of the projection screen, so that the projected image is always displayed in the center of the screen, so you don’t have to worry about the tilt of the projection image. For example, as long as you turn on and place the EPSON EMP-74 projector, the projector will automatically eliminate the tilt of the projection image without you having to make any manual settings.

3. Power-off protection technology

If the power of an ordinary projector is turned off in an abnormal way , the internal components of the projector are easily damaged. This is because the projector emits a lot of heat during operation. In order to discharge the heat in time, a cooling fan is usually installed inside the projector. Even if the projector has stopped working, the cooling fan will continue to work until the internal heat is fully dissipated. In this way, the safety of the optical or electrical components inside the projector will be guaranteed and the life of the projector will be extended. On the contrary, if the power is disconnected immediately when the projector stops working, the fan inside the projector will also stop working immediately. In this way, the large amount of heat generated during the projection process will not be dissipated in time, and the life of the internal components of the projector will be greatly shortened, and it may even be damaged in an instant.

But now some new projector products use a special power-off protection technology, so that even when the power is disconnected, the internal cooling fan can still continue to cool the optical or electrical components inside the projector. In this way, you can disconnect the power immediately after the projector stops working, so as to shorten the power supply time and save you from a long wait.

4. Low noise technology

When it comes to portable projectors, people are always worried about their heat dissipation efficiency and the noise caused by the high-speed rotating fan during heat dissipation. Imagine that in a silent classroom or conference hall, if the projector makes a lot of noise, it will interfere with normal teaching or meetings. For this reason, some special users hope that the projector can have a low noise effect. So how can the projector have both good fan heat dissipation effect and the lowest possible fan rotation noise? Different projector manufacturers have conducted different research on this technology, and many manufacturers have achieved results in this regard. For example, the XL30U projector launched by Mitsubishi uses a centrifugal fan and builds it into the central area inside the projector. At the same time, some components are coated with a sound-absorbing layer, which can reduce the fan noise to about 27 decibels. For another example, Sony VPL-CX80 projector has specially developed two unique fans, which can not only efficiently cool the projector body, but also effectively reduce the noise of fan rotation.

5. Color Palette Technique

In order to further improve the image display quality of the projector, Toshiba projectors have creatively introduced the palette technology based on the color reproduction technology. With this technology, the projector can stay away from the color signal crosstalk, making the projected image clearer and more realistic. Moreover, this technology can automatically compensate for the uneven colors in different directions according to the different brightness of the projected image, and project a high-fidelity, interference-free and clear image through a special driving circuit. In addition, this technology can ensure that the projected image does not flicker through the line-by-line scanning processing circuit, and use the color separation function of this technology to automatically separate the color of the high-precision video input signal, so that the projected image can be more realistic with the color of the original image.

6. Continuous color compensation technology

ViewSonic projectors have a continuous color compensation function, which will not affect the original characteristics of the projector, but will optimize and improve the brightness and contrast of the projection. More importantly, its image color processing functions, such as color reproduction and color expression, have been greatly enhanced. ViewSonic PJ355 projector uses such a technology to obtain a colorful projection picture!

7. Remote control technology

With the rapid popularization of network applications, projectors have also changed from the previous stand-alone application mode to the current network sharing mode. Now many projectors have network functions. Some of them use special presentation control software to remotely manage and control the projector. For example, after installing the Lightport control software on the workstation connected to the InFocus series projector in the LAN , other workstations can use the software to remotely manage and maintain the projector; some projectors are connected to the LAN through the TCP/IP protocol. For example, NEC has launched a LAN card that allows the projector to directly connect to the LAN. With this card, the projector can be easily connected to the LAN. In the future, the operator will no longer need to go to the projector to perform phenomenon operations and management. As long as the LAN is used, the projector can be remotely turned on and off, and remotely search and eliminate projection faults.

In short, as a powerful tool for enjoying large screens, projectors will be closer to more and more ordinary consumers with the development of various practical technologies. In fact, for any product, what impresses and is accepted by consumers is practicality, not just "high-tech". When the technology of projectors develops to the point where they are close to consumers and truly close to their usage and viewing habits, and get rid of the "high and mighty" human thinking, the day when projectors enter thousands of households will not be far away.
