Many companies have launched LED lighting projects. Some people think that there is overcapacity and it should be controlled. This is a misunderstanding. Although there is overcapacity at the low end, there is still insufficient high-end capacity. There are many basic research results in China. After the national policy support is strengthened in the future, they can all be applied in the industry. Domestic companies can also apply for patents in other links of the industrial chain.

This view is shared by other experts in the industry. Chen Yansheng, chairman of the China Association of Lighting Appliances, said in a telephone interview with reporters that the LED lighting industry will undergo a reshuffle in the future. After the projects are put into production, some companies will gradually withdraw from the market if they find that their investment is large but their output is small. Companies with strong economic strength and technological advantages will win in the reshuffle.

Wu Ling said that in 2010, China's LED lighting output exceeded 150 million units, and it is expected to exceed 1.4 billion units in 2015, and the industry has entered a stage of rapid development. In the upstream of the industrial chain, multinational companies have applied for patents, and the barriers are high. Some people therefore believe that the development of LED lighting has a bad prospect, which is also a misunderstanding. There are many basic research results in China, and they can all be applied in the industry after the national policy support is strengthened in the future. Domestic companies can also apply for patents in other links of the industrial chain.
