1. Power failure protection --- When there is a power failure for a moment, the UPS will immediately convert the battery DC power to AC power to continue to supply power.
2. High and low voltage protection --- When the mains voltage is too high or too low, the UPS built-in voltage stabilizer (AVR) will make appropriate adjustments
to keep the mains voltage within the usable range. If the voltage is too low or too high and exceeds the usable range, the UPS will convert the battery DC power to AC power to continue to supply power to protect the user's equipment.
3. Waveform distortion processing --- Since electricity is transmitted to the client through the transmission and distribution lines, the use of various machines and equipment often causes distortion of the mains voltage waveform, because waveform distortion will generate harmonic interference equipment and increase the temperature of the power system transformer. Generally, the distortion rate is required to be <5%, and the general UPS design distortion rate is <3%.
4. Frequency stability --- The mains frequency is divided into 50Hz/60Hz. The so-called frequency is the cycle of change every second. 50Hz means 50 cycles per second. The frequency of Taiwan's mains is 60Hz, and the mainland is 50Hz. When the generator is running, the sudden change in the power consumption of the client will cause the speed to change, which will cause the converted power frequency to drift. The power converted by UPS can provide a stable frequency.
5. Voltage stability---The mains voltage is easily affected by the quality of the power transmission line. The voltage of users closer to the substation is higher, about 130~120V, and the voltage of users farther away from the substation is lower, about 100~90V. Too high or too low voltage will shorten the life of the user's equipment, and in serious cases, it will burn the equipment. Using an online UPS can provide a stable voltage power supply with a voltage change of less than 2V, which can extend the life of the equipment and protect the equipment.
6. Suppress transverse mode noise---Transverse mode noise
is generated between the live wire and the neutral wire. 7. Suppress common mode noise---Common mode noise is generated between the live wire/neutral wire and the ground wire.
8. Surge protection---Generally, UPS will be equipped with a surge absorber or a tip discharge design to absorb surges to protect user equipment.
9. Instantaneous response protection---When the mains is disturbed, it may cause voltage bulge or sag or instantaneous voltage drop. Using online UPS can provide stable voltage, making the voltage change less than 2V, which can extend the life of the equipment and protect the equipment.
10. Power monitoring---With the intelligent communication interface and monitoring software of UPS, the mains voltage frequency, power outage time and number can be recorded to achieve power monitoring, and the UPS timer can be arranged to save energy.
