In the past two years, the sudden rise of LCD splicing display products in the domestic large-screen splicing curtain wall market has become a major highlight in the industry. As a new large-screen application technology category, LCD splicing technology, with its unique characteristics, is becoming a huge force in changing the application pattern of the traditional splicing display market.
However, while LCD splicing is developing rapidly, it is also facing a more critical problem, that is, the splicing gap, which directly affects the overall visual effect. Therefore, in terms of research and development on the splicing gap, splicing manufacturers, especially upstream companies represented by Samsung, have never stopped. In 2009, Samsung launched the DID narrow-edge splicing wall product, which reduced the thickness of the double-sided splicing to less than 7 mm at one time; in 2010, Samsung launched an ultra-narrow-edge splicing screen with a splicing gap of only 6.7 mm, which strongly promoted the development of the LCD splicing market, including the number of manufacturers and market share.
In 2011, Samsung broke the record again and launched a LCD splicing product with a splicing seam of only 5.3mm, reducing the narrowest splicing point to less than 6mm for the first time. This will not only further eliminate the sense of separation caused by multiple screens, but also effectively improve the overall visual effect of the combination of multiple screens, presenting a truly seamless splicing effect. So far, many manufacturers including Dehao, Saipu, and Oudi have reached cooperation with Samsung and mainly promoted 5.3mm splicing screen products in 2011.
For example, when the leaders and agents of Samsung headquarters in South Korea visited Guangzhou Saipu Electronics and held a meeting on February 16, 2011, it was decided that Samsung's 5.3mm LCD splicing (55-inch) product would become one of Saipu's main products in 2011; for another example, Dehao Electronics launched an LCD splicing unit using Samsung's 55-inch panel at the InfoCommAsia exhibition in 2010, and achieved mass delivery in January 2011.
The maturity and perfection of technology has promoted the rapid promotion of industrial applications. The advancement of LCD splicing technology has made LCD splicing achieve the effect of "visual seamlessness", which fundamentally solves the original bottleneck of LCD splicing application. According to data, by 2015, the market share of LCD will increase from the current 21% to 50%, becoming the mainstream technology in the market. Driven by Samsung's 5.3mm ultra-narrow bezel splicing screen, the LCD splicing market will surely enter a period of rapid development in the future.
