1. System composition:

1. Command and Control Center:

The function of the command and control center is to send the entire city's road traffic situation to the display terminal in real time through the wireless data transmission module or GSM wireless transmission network short message under the control of the command and control personnel.

2. Display terminal:

The functions of the display terminal are: the display terminal receives the information data packet sent by the command and control center in real time; parses the data packet; generates the dot matrix data required by the display screen; displays the traffic status of the road ahead; and displays the status of the issued command.

3. Communication network

1) GSM wireless network:

The GSM system is a relatively mature, complete and widely used system in the current mobile communication system based on time division multiple access technology. At present, a GSM digital cellular mobile communication network covering the whole country has been built, which is the main mode of public mobile network in my country. Based on the GSM short message (SMS) function, control commands and data communication can be realized for the control terminal. Therefore, the establishment of an urban traffic guidance control system based on this network has the advantages of low operating cost and no need to establish a dedicated communication network.

2) Wireless data transmission network:

Wireless data transmission network uses wireless data transmission radio/module to form a network and transmit data. Its characteristics are: the real-time transmission is relatively good, and the real-time traffic conditions of some roads can be displayed on the road information display screen in front, so that drivers can understand the road conditions in time and choose the appropriate driving route in time.

In wireless data transmission networks, it can be divided into long-distance transmission and short-distance transmission, depending on the customer's requirements.

2. System functions:

In the command and control center, operators use the application software provided by this system to: 1. quickly and easily edit the display content of each display terminal; 2. send the display content to the designated display terminal with the simplest operation (just click the mouse); 3. browse and observe the display content of each display terminal at any time.

The display terminal can display the display content sent from the command center in real time.

The display terminal can automatically filter out SMS messages mistakenly sent by users outside the system.

The display terminal can display other information according to user requirements.

3. System Features

The communication link between the command center and the display terminal is established based on the GSM wireless public network, which eliminates the need to build a wireless network and invest a large amount of money. In addition, the network has a wide coverage, mature technology, and stable and reliable operation.

Compared with the method of laying optical cables to establish communication links between the command center and the display terminal, it requires huge capital investment and huge urban road reconstruction construction projects.

Since the communication link is wireless, the configuration location of the display terminal is very flexible. It can be configured gradually and in batches according to funding conditions, and can be upgraded according to the needs of urban development.

GSM resource capacity is huge, and as the city develops, there is no limit to the number of display terminals that can be finally configured.

The GSM network does not charge for receiving SMS services, so for display terminals that only receive but do not send, the operating cost is very low. The command center can adopt a charter operation mode, and its operating cost can be controlled at a low level.

4. The significance of installing this system:

With the rapid advancement of the country's modernization, the number of urban motor vehicles has increased dramatically. As a result, traffic congestion and traffic jams often occur, which is a common phenomenon in most cities in my country. Moreover, the larger the city size and the higher the economic level, the more serious this phenomenon is. As we all know, the unsmooth urban traffic will have a significant direct or indirect impact on the city's economic benefits, social benefits, and environmental benefits. There are many reasons for the unsmoothness, but a very important reason is that the management methods are not compatible with the increase in the number of motor vehicles. For example, there is no early warning system for urban traffic, and there is no road traffic status indication and guidance system. The road traffic status of the city is dynamically changing, and an emergency or an unpredictable reason can cause traffic jams in a short time. If this state cannot be indicated in time at an appropriate location, it will inevitably cause a large number of vehicles to drive blindly, causing the blockage of the road to become more and more serious and unable to be cleared for a long time. The urban traffic guidance control system was developed under such a demand. The system has been successfully developed, and the technical and functional aspects have reached the level of reliable application stage.

The display terminals of the system are installed at different locations on different sections of the road according to the traffic diversion theory. Each display terminal displays the traffic situation of several roads in real time, and guides drivers to choose a reasonable driving route at any time. Obviously, installing this system can undoubtedly play the role of automatic guidance, diversion and diversion for urban road traffic.

However, in the past, for a large-scale city, the capital investment and urban infrastructure renovation projects to build such a huge network system were staggering, which is also the reason why the relevant government departments have been unable to do it for a long time.

This system uses advanced technical means and scientific and reasonable design ideas to turn the long-term wishes of the traffic department into reality with the characteristics of small investment (borrowing the existing mature wireless network), simple construction (no need to transform the road infrastructure), flexible display terminal configuration, and simple system upgrade. With the promotion and use of this system, it is of great significance to improve the level of urban traffic management and enhance the overall image of the city.
