Magnetic flap liquid level gauge is actually not unfamiliar to instrument purchasers. However, due to the complex working conditions on site, the requirements for instrument selection are also different. At this time, it is very important to understand the considerations for selecting a magnetic level meter for correct selection. To this end, this article focuses on the considerations for selecting a magnetic flap level gauge, hoping that users can purchase a magnetic flap level gauge that is more suitable for on-site working conditions.

Generally speaking, when users select models based on application conditions, the main factors that need to be considered are the following:

  1. Measuring medium

Different media have different temperatures, corrosiveness, media density, media viscosity, etc., and these properties of the media have a great impact on the measurement of the magnetic flap level meter. Therefore, by correctly selecting a magnetic flap level meter according to the characteristics of the measurement medium, you can avoid inaccurate measurements, affecting the life of the instrument, or even being unable to use it.

  2. Measuring range

Measuring range is a very important consideration when choosing a magnetic level meter. If the range error is large, it will have a direct impact on the measurement effect.

If the specific range cannot be confirmed when purchasing, an arbitrarily determined range may result in failure to install, or the installation position must be adjusted to meet the working conditions.

Therefore, in order to avoid unnecessary trouble caused by later construction and installation, be sure to confirm the measurement range when purchasing. If the tank has not yet been opened, just communicate directly with the sales engineer; if the tank has been opened, the center distance of the opening needs to be informed to the sales engineer.

Generally speaking, the measuring range of stainless steel magnetic flap level gauge is between 200mm~6000mm. If it exceeds 6000mm, it needs to be manufactured in sections to meet the requirements; the measuring range of anti-corrosion PP/PVC material is up to 4000mm. Similarly, if it exceeds this range, it generally needs Manufactured in sections.

  3. Measure the pressure

Measuring pressure is related to the safety of on-site workers, and everyone has always attached great importance to measuring pressure. Generally speaking, when the measured pressure exceeds 16MPa, an explosion-proof magnetic flap level meter must be selected.

  4. Working temperature

At normal temperature, magnetic flap level gauges produced by regular manufacturers can generally be used. However, some special media, such as liquid carbon dioxide, are liquid below -78.5°C at normal pressure, but gaseous at normal temperature, so they cannot be measured at normal temperature. To measure liquid carbon dioxide, you need to use a frost-proof magnetic flap level meter.

In addition, under high temperature conditions, the liquid in the conduit needs to be heat dissipated to achieve stable measurement. Because the working temperature on site has a great influence on instrument measurement, the working temperature is also a very important parameter when selecting the type.

  5. Do you need to output signals, control contacts, etc.

According to the characteristics of the on-site working conditions, see whether output signals and control contacts are needed. According to the actual working conditions, choose 4~20mA, 4~20mA+HATR, 1~5VDC, 485, etc. The control contacts such as controlling pump start, high and low alarms, etc. can also be used in conjunction with DCS and PLC.

  6. Explosion-proof requirements

In flammable and explosive situations such as petrochemical industry, it will be very dangerous if the magnetic switch or remote transmitter matching the magnetic flap level gauge does not have explosion-proof function. Therefore, when used in flammable and explosive situations, be sure to choose explosion-proof ones. Type magnetic flap level gauge.

  7. Other considerations

In addition to the above aspects, when selecting a magnetic flap level gauge, you must also consider whether the on-site working conditions require special installation methods, sewage discharge, exhaust, insulation, heat tracing, etc.

In short, to make the correct selection, you need to understand the specific application conditions, combined with your own working conditions, and carefully compare the selection table of the magnetic flap liquid level meter to be selected to see whether its parameters match your own working conditions. . If you don’t know how to choose during the actual selection process, you can always consult the manufacturer and through in-depth communication, you can choose a magnetic flap level gauge that matches the working conditions.
