Keysight Technologies Launches 224G Ethernet Test Solution to Help System-on-Chip Manufacturers Validate Next-Generation High-Speed Digital Interface Technologies
New test solution rapidly advances design and development of 1.6 T transceivers
Keysight Technologies recently announced that its new 224G Ethernet test solution can help system-on-chip (SoC) manufacturers verify the next generation of electrical interface technology and accelerate the design and development of 1.6 Tb/s transceivers. Keysight provides advanced design and verification solutions to accelerate innovation and create a secure and connected world.
5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT applications are driving data traffic to grow rapidly, creating unprecedented bandwidth requirements in networks and data centers. High-speed digital interfaces that support 224 Gbps data connection speeds per channel not only have greater bandwidth, but also need to support 1.6 Tb/s high-speed interconnect technology. Keysight's next-generation bit error rate tester M8050A (BERT) solution supports the generation and analysis of 224 Gbps signals.
"Keysight is pleased to help Synopsys and other semiconductor manufacturers seize early market opportunities in the transition from 800G to 1.6T," said Dr. Joachim Peerlings, vice president of Keysight's Network and Data Center Solutions. "Keysight's unique high-speed digital interface test solutions can help Synopsys validate the performance of its 224G IP designs, accelerating 1.6T design and development."
The M8050A BERT provides users with an advanced 224 Gbps test solution that enables electrical design and verification of transceiver SoCs used in data centers and networks to transmit large amounts of data at high speeds. The signal integrity level of the Keysight M8050A BERT helps accurately characterize receivers used in next-generation data center networks and server interfaces. Synopsys used the Keysight M8050A BERT, M8199 arbitrary waveform generator (AWG), and Infiniium UXR-Series oscilloscopes to develop and verify the 224G SerDes IP design.
"High-performance computing systems require high-speed, low-latency interfaces to process large amounts of data with minimal power consumption," said John Koeter, senior vice president of marketing and strategy for the Solutions Group at Synopsys. "Synopsys is a leading provider of high-speed Ethernet IP solutions, and we use Keysight's comprehensive digital interface test solutions to validate the performance of our PHY IP, which enables designers to meet their design and system-level requirements for high-performance computing, networking, and artificial intelligence SoCs."
