Online Paper Moisture Tester Application Range:

It can be used for online determination of moisture content of materials in mining, coal and other industries.

The infrared moisture meter adopts grating type infrared moisture meter, which has much higher stability than six-beam and eight-beam meters. The average test accuracy can reach about 0.1%-0.5% (depending on the material being tested), which meets the production process requirements.


The traditional method of measuring the moisture content in materials is the oven method, which has the disadvantage of taking a long time to operate. In addition, the information is seriously delayed, so this method cannot be applied to the production line and can only be used in the laboratory. The infrared paper moisture meter can measure quickly and continuously on the conveyor belt without contacting the measured material, realizing online dynamic real-time detection, with a response time of only 8ms, realizing real-time control of the moisture content of the product.

Principle of infrared online paper moisture tester:

1. The hydrogen-oxygen bonds in water molecules absorb near-infrared rays of a specific wavelength (specific measurement band 1.94μm). At a specific wavelength, the energy of the reflected near-infrared rays is inversely proportional to the energy of the near-infrared rays absorbed by the water molecules in the material. The moisture content of the measured material is calculated based on the amount of energy loss.

2. When water molecules are excited by a specific energy band and become in a vibrational state, the hydrogen-oxygen bond between the two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom in the water molecule will stretch, shrink, or distort in other forms. The energy that can make water molecules vibrate covers a specific band of the entire electromagnetic spectrum. In different parts of the entire spectrum, some absorption bands are very strong, and some absorption bands are very weak. In the near-infrared part of the spectrum, this band is particularly strong for water molecules, and the instrument is easier to achieve in terms of emitting, filtering and receiving energy.
