Working principle and introduction of dry cleaning and washing cylinder tester - Shanghai Chengsi About fabric dry cleaning method (reference AATCC 162_2002)
1. The dry cleaning method mentioned here refers to immersing the yarn or fabric in a diluted chlorine solution under certain conditions (such as a certain temperature, time, pH value and hardness) and shaking it at a certain speed.
2. After dry cleaning, wring out the fabric and then blot it dry with filter paper before evaluating its color fastness.
3. Preparation of reagents: Add 5ppm chlorine and 100ppm salt to 5000mL distilled water or deionized water, then add sodium carbonate and acetic acid to make a reagent solution with a pH value of 7.0. The solution temperature is 21℃.
4. Test sample: Sample size is about 6x6cm. Total weight is 5.0g±0.25g, including control cloth. If the total weight of a single sample is less than 5g, multiple layers can be used. Samples of different colors can be mixed together to form a total load of 5.0g.
5. Test steps:
5.1 Clean the cylinder: Add about 5000mL of deionized water and 0.5mL of sodium hypochlorite (5.25%) into the cylinder, cover the cylinder cover, run for about 10 minutes, and then pour out the solution. Cleaning the cylinder is only necessary if other tests have been done or it has not been used for more than two weeks.
5.2 Preparation of hardness concentrate
- Weigh 8.24g of anhydrous calcium chloride (CaCl2) and 5.07g of magnesium chloride hexahydrate;
- Add 800mL of deionized or distilled water to a 1L graduated cup, add the calcium chloride and magnesium chloride mentioned above, stirring, and then make up to 1L with water. This is the "hardness concentrate" and can be kept for 30 days.
5.4 Dilute 51 mL of "Hardness Concentrate" to 5100 mL with deionized or distilled water, and add 0.5 mL of sodium hypochlorite. Determine the actual ppm value of Cl and adjust to 5 ppm by titration.
5.5 Prepare a reagent solution with a pH of 7.0 by adding sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and acetic acid (CH3COOH).
5.6 Add 5000 mL of the solution prepared in 5.4 above into the cylinder and adjust the solution temperature to 21°C.
5.7 Place the test sample and control cloth together in the cylinder and run for 60 minutes.
5.8 Remove the sample and control cloths and squeeze out the solution using a mandrel. Rinse thoroughly with deionized or distilled water. Wring out the cloths and dry them on a bleached, absorbent paper towel at room temperature.
5.9 At this point, the entire dry cleaning process is completed.
