Both gas alarms and toxic and hazardous gas detectors need annual inspections, and the state stipulates that they should be inspected once a year! Mandatory inspections are usually only for factory inspections and trade measurements. The state will only make regulations such as "must use effective..." for certain occasions. The "effective" here includes that some equipment must undergo regular inspections. Hazardous places such as chemical plants also require regular inspections and calibrations of combustible gas detection and alarm equipment based on such regulations. The state has mandatory certifications for gas detectors, such as explosion-proof certificates.

The service life of the combustible gas detector sensor itself is generally 3-5 years, and it is closely related to the environment of the place of use. Industrial products from internationally renowned brands need to be inspected every 6 months.

The following two national standards are commonly used standards related to gas alarms:

GB/T 12474-2008 "Determination of explosion limits of flammable gases in air"

GB 50493-2009 Specification for Design of Combustible and Toxic Gas Detection and Alarm in Petrochemical Industry

Regular annual inspection of combustible gas alarms is a guarantee for daily use. The state stipulates that the statutory metrology department or the statutory authorized organization shall conduct experiments in accordance with the verification procedures to provide proof to determine that the indication error of the measuring instrument meets the specified requirements. This activity is called verification. Combustible gas alarms are measuring instruments that are subject to statutory mandatory verification. The quality inspection and metrology department should verify the combustible gas alarms in use every year and issue a verification certificate to ensure that they meet the measurement performance.
