The external trigger of the function generator only supports two output modes: sweep and burst. The trigger source is divided into internal and external.
Triggering can only be selected in sweep and burst modes.
Let's take Keysight's 33220A as an example. If you set Trigger source to EXTERNAL, the 33220A will receive input signals from an external trigger source. If you set TRIGGER SOURCE to INTERNAL or MANUAL, the 33220A can also output trigger signals to external instruments. The types of these trigger signals are optional and are divided into rising edge and falling edge.

The minimum time for the 33500 series is 135ns; the minimum time for the 33600 series is 140ns.
From the data indicators, we can see that when the trigger delay is set to 0, the delay between receiving the trigger input and the waveform synthesizer inside the 33600A starting to generate output is less than 135 or 140ns. Regardless of the trigger delay setting value, the trigger delay needs to be increased.
That is, actual delay = delay setting + trigger delay (<140ns)
