A large amount of coal powder and rock dust is generated during the mining and transportation process. With the increase in coal mining intensity and mechanization level, while coal production has increased, the amount of dust generated and the dust concentration in mine workplaces have also greatly increased, which poses many potential hazards to the life safety of coal mining workers.

On the one hand, because dust pollutes the mining environment, a large amount of dust floats in the air. Miners who work in this environment for a long time will inhale excessive amounts of coal dust and rock dust, which can easily cause pneumoconiosis. Pneumoconiosis has become a serious occupational disease that endangers the health of Chinese workers. An authoritative report pointed out that the cumulative number of pneumoconiosis cases in China has exceeded one million, especially in the coal system. The economic losses caused to the country by pneumoconiosis each year have reached 8 billion yuan, and it has also caused unfavorable political influence on China abroad.

On the other hand, excessive dust concentration will increase the potential risk of dust explosion. Dust, like other substances, also has a certain amount of energy. Because the dust is too small and has a large surface area in contact with the air, when the dust mixes with the air and encounters an open flame or a high-temperature object, the dust is easily ignited and the combustion process is completed in an instant. The dust expands dramatically in volume instantly, forming a very high expansion pressure that releases a large amount of energy.

Therefore, various countries have carried out dust prevention and control and online monitoring of dust in dusty working environments. Dust monitoring is an important means for coal mine managers to control dust concentration in the workplace, and it is also an important measure to prevent and control dust diseases and explosions. Therefore, Juchuang Environmental Protection, in conjunction with upstream and downstream companies, combined with China's current situation and based on this, has done a lot of research work and launched a series of dust monitoring instruments, such as CCHZ1000 mining dust detector, GCG1000 dust concentration sensor, JCF-5C portable laser dust detector, JCF-DQB online dust detector, among which the advanced monitoring method is the dust concentration sensor.

The three types of dust detection instruments, namely dust samplers, dust detectors and dust concentration sensors, have their own advantages and disadvantages in terms of function. All three types of instruments can play a role in dust concentration detection.

1. Dust sampler is a conventional method for measuring dust in coal mines, and is also a calibration instrument for dust detectors and dust concentration detectors. However, the measurement cycle of dust sampler is too long, it is relatively complicated to use, and it cannot reflect the changes in dust concentration in working conditions in a timely manner.

2. Dust detectors and dust concentration sensors can detect and read the dust concentration in the air at the site in real time. The dust concentration sensor can also transmit real-time data back to the ground through the safety monitoring system.

The detection principle of GCG1000 dust concentration sensor is light scattering. This sensor adopts advanced dust measurement technology at home and abroad, using infrared laser and imported photomultiplier tube. The floating dust entering the darkroom is irradiated by infrared laser. Under the condition of certain dust properties, the scattered light intensity of the dust is proportional to the dust mass concentration. The scattered light intensity is converted into an electrical signal, and the dust mass concentration can be directly calculated by presetting the K value.

GCG1000 dust concentration sensor is widely used in places with explosive dust. The sensor is equipped with professional cleaning configuration and is more suitable for harsh monitoring environments.
