How to use LCR tester
1. Prepare the LCR tester. The white button is the switch.
2. The commonly used buttons are ZLCR to change the main measurement function, and DQe to change the auxiliary measurement function.
3. Prepare the peripheral connector
4. Connect the computer and LCR as shown in the figure
5. The tester screen will display the measurement data.
6. Start measuring
How to correct the error of LCR tester
To reduce measurement errors, LCR meters have several correction functions. The correction values vary depending on the frequency and impedance range, so it takes a lot of time to perform full range correction.
Here, zero point calibration and load calibration are explained.
Zero calibration: When the zero drift of the LCR meter is not negligible for the measured value, a zero calibration is required. Because the zero drift varies with the physical configuration of the cables and electrodes, the cable routing and electrode spacing must be the same when connecting the components when performing open and closed circuit zero calibration.
Load correction: In addition to the zero drift caused by different measuring fixtures, if there are measurement errors that cannot be ignored, load correction can be performed to improve measurement accuracy. Even for LCR testers without load correction function, correction coefficients can be obtained for each impedance range and frequency, and correction can be performed by itself.
In order to perform load calibration, you first need to prepare standard instruments or parts with known accurate values. After performing zero point calibration, measure the standard impedance Zstd with known accurate value. If the measured value is Zms, then calculate the correction factor according to the following formula.
