With the continuous development of electric vehicles, the demand for charging piles is increasing, and people's performance requirements for charging piles are getting higher and higher. In the past, the test of charging piles generally used the practical environment test method. With the emergence of high-power electronic loads, some manufacturers will also choose electronic loads to test charging piles. However, in the process of using electronic loads to test charging piles, engineers may encounter the following situations: When using the CV mode of the electronic load, if the lowest charging voltage of the charging pile is used as the CV mode load parameter value, and the voltage is gradually loaded to 700V, it is very likely that a large current value will be loaded instantly during the test (in order to stabilize the load at 700V as soon as possible, the current climbs faster). If the current overshoot time is long and the amplitude is large, it will cause the charging pile to be overcurrent protected. In response to this problem, the IT8900 series of high-performance, high-power programmable DC electronic loads newly launched by Itech Electronics can solve this trouble for engineers.
The CV+CC compound operation mode of the IT8900 series can limit the breakthrough current. When the charging pile cannot start due to overcurrent during the test, the engineer only needs to select the CV+CC (I-limit) mode and set the I-limit value through the machine interface menu of the IT8900 to limit the adjustment of the internal current to not exceed the overcurrent protection point of the charging pile, which can effectively solve the problem.
When testing high-power charging piles, a single-machine electronic load that matches the power of the charging pile is generally selected, because the electronic load in the traditional mode does not support CV mode parallel connection. Once multiple electronic loads are connected in parallel in CV mode, it is easy for one of the parallel loads to burn out due to excessive current. However, high-power electronic loads are generally expensive, and if you buy new equipment, the product design/manufacturing cost will increase. The IT8900 series is more complete in parallel function. It supports CV mode master-slave parallel connection with a maximum power of 600KW. After parallel connection, all operations only need to be set on the host panel, and the host is automatically assigned to the slave. In the parallel state, the function is not restricted and can be used for testing high-power charging piles such as 80KW. Users do not need to purchase equipment multiple times, saving costs. At the same time, it has built-in multiple communication interfaces (LAN/USB/RS232/GPIB), which is convenient for users to remotely control the product and perform various tests.
The emergence of ITECH IT8900 series products makes the testing of charging piles more efficient and faster. With comprehensive protection functions and ultra-high precision measurement, the IT8900 series can meet users' various high-power testing needs.
