The application of pressure sensors in liquid level measurement. Liquid level monitoring and measurement can be seen everywhere in industrial production and transportation industries. For example, the water level in the boiler, the monitoring of the liquid level in the container in chemical production; ships entering the port need to detect the water depth and the draft of the ship itself, and also convert the liquid level measurement into the amount and density of the liquid stored in the container.

 

1. Liquid level measurement method

Liquid level measurement methods can be divided into mechanical height method and pressure measurement method.

1. Mechanical height

The mechanical transmission structure is complex, and the verticality of the instrument affects the measurement accuracy. In cold winter, the transmission mechanism is prone to ice and cannot move. In addition, the curve is drawn by pen or read manually, which is not conducive to automation and communication with computers.

 

2. Pressure method

The pressure (pressure intensity) is measured by using a pressure sensor buried at the bottom of the liquid or at a certain depth, and the height of the liquid level is obtained using the formula Pa=ρCH. The container capacity at the corresponding height - the volume of the liquid contained - can also be obtained based on the structural design dimensions of the container. The pressure sensor outputs an electrical signal that is proportional to the pressure sensor, which can be transmitted over long distances and is convenient for automatic recording and correction and compensation for the processor, further improving accuracy.
