Bimetallic thermometers have a wide range of applications, and different application fields have different requirements for bimetallic thermometers, so everyone must pay attention when purchasing. So what factors should be considered in advance? The most basic one is of course the classification of bimetallic thermometers. Here I will introduce to you the selection instructions for bimetallic thermometers.

  Classification of bimetallic thermometers

According to the connection direction between the bimetallic thermometer pointer and the protective tube, the bimetallic thermometer can be divided into four types: axial type, radial type, 135° type and universal type.

Axial bimetallic thermometer: the pointer disk is vertically connected to the protective tube.

Radial bimetallic thermometer: The pointer disk is connected in parallel with the protective tube.

135° bimetallic thermometer: the pointer disk is connected to the protective tube at 135°.

Universal bimetallic thermometer: The connection angle between the pointer disk and the protective tube can be adjusted arbitrarily.

In order to meet the needs of actual production, bimetallic thermometers have different installation and fixing forms: movable external threaded pipe joint, movable internal threaded pipe joint, fixed threaded joint, ferrule threaded joint, ferrule flange joint and fixed flange.

  Selection considerations

  (1) When selecting a bimetallic thermometer, you must fully consider the actual application environment and requirements, such as dial diameter, accuracy level, installation and fixing method, type of measured medium and environmental hazard, etc. In addition, you must also pay attention to factors such as cost-effectiveness and maintenance workload.

  (2) During transportation, installation and use of the bimetallic thermometer, avoid collision with the temperature probe. To ensure the accuracy of the measurement, the length of the probe inserted into the measured medium should not be less than 2/3 of the probe length. Twisting the instrument housing during installation is prohibited.

The above are some of the issues you should consider when choosing a bimetallic thermometer. For more details, you can discuss with the experts at Instrument World Network.
