Plastic films occupy a considerable share in applications such as packaging and agriculture. In the process of forming plastic films, in order to ensure that the quality of the films reaches the required level, processors often require quality control at the entrance and exit of the machine and surface defect inspection for the film in rapid rolling. The new generation ELSIS inspection system of Erhardt+Leimer is specially designed for film quality control. Through this system, the camera can reliably detect extremely small defects such as leaks, gels, white spots, small holes, insects, black spots, scratches and other defects. The
ELSIS camera system responds very quickly and can meet the extremely special requirements of moving format surface inspection. In addition, the special lighting system and the supporting integrated mechanical and electrical systems meet the strict needs of film manufacturing inspection. ELSIS is designed with special reference to user-friendly elements and pays special attention to the ease of operation of the operating interface. All entrances and display components are arranged logically, and only the important functions of the main menu and submenus are displayed. According to the level of authority, each user is provided with a preset interface for his or her task. The configured functions include defect distribution map, defect icon, display of defect size, defect distribution statistics, defect classification, defect grayscale map, recipe selection, whole roll overview, defect statistics and diagnosis, etc.
Inspection cameras and dedicated lighting systems can detect even the smallest defects in the rolling film in advance
Quality inspection of plastic pipes
In recent years, the Chinese plastic pipe market has developed very rapidly and production has also increased rapidly. Many pipe extrusion manufacturers have racked their brains to improve product quality, especially to control the dimensional stability of products. SIKORA, which has rich experience in plastic pipe extrusion production applications, recently launched the company's smallest processor system ECOCONTROL 600, which is specially designed for independent production lines with extremely high productivity in plastic pipe production. [page]
ECOCONTROL 600 can be used in conjunction with other SIKORA products to perform deeper measurements on plastic pipes.
production of plastic pipes requires optimal conditions for all line components and does not allow any compromises in measuring technology. For this reason, SIKORA combines the ECOCONTROL 600 with the LASER 2000 for diameter measurement in 2 or 3 measuring planes or with the LED 8025 XY for diameter and concentricity measurements of transparent products. Combined with the LUMP 2000 for measuring convexity and concavity, the ECOCONTROL 600 can meet extremely high quality control requirements and help to significantly reduce costs. Data can be easily transferred to the production line computer via the Ethernet interface or USB drive. A hard copy of the production quality status can be output by the printer. SIKORA can provide the ECOCONTROL 600 in several language configurations.
Color measurement and photometry systems achieve beautiful paint surfaces
In the automotive manufacturing industry, it is often a very severe challenge to apply a consistent and high-quality shiny paint surface to the exterior of the car. Since the introduction of metallic paint, pearlescent paint and other shiny paints in the 1970s, how to accurately measure their color and appearance has become a problem that automotive suppliers and manufacturers feel troubled by because ordinary optical instruments are difficult to cope with shiny paint surfaces.
Using the MA98 handheld spectrophotometer and xDNA system, the color difference problem of car shiny paint can be easily solved.
“With xDNA, X-Rite is providing automakers and suppliers with the tools to identify properties of iridescent paints that are not detectable or rarely analyzed with other systems,” said Brian Teunis, X-Rite’s marketing manager for Industrial Color and Appearance. “We coined the term ‘xDNA’ to highlight the fact that every iridescent paint has a unique three-dimensional mathematical model, much like every person has a unique DNA structure. The X-Rite package is actually called Dynamic Numerical Analysis, but we think xDNA is more catchy.” Teunis also noted that the xDNA system with MA98 software is available in multiple languages, and that X-Rite will initially offer the system with MA98 to automakers and suppliers in the U.S. and Europe, but that the package has potential applications in other industries, including appliance manufacturing and cosmetic color matching.
The main components of the xDNA package are the new MA98 spectrophotometer, which uses twice the light source angle and the number of sensors of the previous instrument, and the X-ColorQC software suite, which can process the data of all xDNA characteristics into easy-to-understand charts, showing the unique characteristics of a certain glitter paint. The new xDNA package provides manufacturers with reliable and consistent data. From a hardware perspective, the MA98 is a spectrophotometer with an accuracy of 31 points, designed for convenient factory use. The instrument weighs about 1 kilogram, the body is made of soft plastic material, and it can be held with two hands. Factory production personnel can use this instrument frequently and comfortably for measurements. (end)
