On-site steam is divided into saturated steam and superheated steam. There is no unified standard for steam measurement in my country, and it is impossible to make an authoritative assessment of the uncertainty of the instrument system, making it difficult for the trading parties to resolve the contradictions caused by the quantity difference. In particular, saturated steam often appears as a steam-water two-phase flow during the transportation process due to its own physical properties (that is, the dryness of saturated steam is less than 100%). The current steam measurement does not correct the dryness, which greatly reduces the accuracy of the measurement.

1. Use standard orifice flowmeter

Standard orifice plates have reliable experimental data and perfect international and national standards. Since the steam flow rate is generally high, the impact wear on the orifice plate is large. As a steam flow meter for trade settlement, it should be inspected and repaired annually according to the national verification regulations. If the sharp corners of the orifice plate are severely worn, it should be replaced in time. The standard orifice plate has a long history of use and relatively complete data, but it is also worn out in the field and the cycle is not large.

2. Use standard nozzle flow meter

The nozzle flowmeter has a simple and firm structure, no moving parts, no deformation in long-term use, stable and reliable, with a long history and complete test data. It has rich design, manufacturing and application experience, a high degree of standardization, and does not need to be calibrated for actual flow. The standard nozzle has reliable experimental data and perfect international and national standards, and is used as a flowmeter for trade settlement. The nozzle flowmeter still has certain advantages over the orifice flowmeter in flow measurement, and the pressure loss is smaller.

3. Choose V-cone flow meter

The use of V-cone flowmeters has gradually increased in recent years, especially in steam and gas applications, where the response is relatively good. They have low pressure loss, high accuracy and good stability.

4. Choose a wedge flow meter

The wedge-shaped throttling piece is the detection piece of the wedge-shaped flowmeter. It is a V-shaped throttling piece installed on the upper part of the pipe with its round sliding top angle facing downward, which is conducive to the smooth passage of liquids containing suspended particles or viscous liquids and dirty media, and will not cause stagnation on the upstream side of the throttling piece. The wedge-shaped flowmeter has a simple and firm structure, no moving parts, no deformation in long-term use, and is stable and reliable.
