The newly launched UV F-Theta lenses feature an optimized low outgassing stainless steel design for UV laser material processing applications.
Excelitas Technologies® Corp., a market-driven leader in innovative optoelectronic solutions, recently announced the launch of the LINOS® UV F-Theta Ronar low outgassing lens for the 340 nm-360 nm wavelength range. As the first off-the-shelf UV F-Theta lens on the market with a low outgassing and stainless steel design, the new lens is more durable than traditional products and can handle higher UV pulse energies and ultra-short laser pulses for laser material processing applications in the semiconductor, wafer processing and electronic display industries.
This low outgassing UV lens uses a unique UV construction, including high-grade fused silica lens material and stainless steel housing, combined with high-end broadband lens coatings to achieve excellent optical performance. In addition, the lens design optimizes and minimizes back reflections to avoid damage to the scanning mirror. The lens's packaging and dust cover materials also achieve low outgassing performance.
Its main product features include:
-
Low outgassing design, manufacturing and assembly minimize contamination during precision UV processing, while also extending lens life by reducing contaminants in the lens.
-
It can be used in high-end violet laser applications such as semiconductor manufacturing, flat panel displays and solar cell manufacturing.
-
Optimized for UV wavelengths of 340 nm-360 nm and high-end broadband coatings, it is suitable for various types of lasers, including disk lasers, fiber lasers, and DSSP lasers, as well as wafer cutting, annealing, and solar cell processing applications. It can handle higher power (up to 100W) and short pulses (≥500 femtoseconds), which enables cold laser processing and minimizes the heat affected zone (HAZ), improving laser processing accuracy.
-
Advanced production processes ensure minimal outgassing and long-term optical stability.
-
Optimized back reflection technology minimizes damage to the scanning mirror and extends its service life.
"We are pleased to introduce the low outgassing UV F-Theta Ronar lenses in the wavelength range of 340 nm-360 nm as the latest addition to our LINOS F-Theta-Ronar lens product line for laser material processing. "In addition to the excellent durability of the frame material, we have also significantly reduced auxiliary materials and improved clean assembly processes, making this lens ideal for a variety of UV laser applications," said Matthias Koppitz, Application Engineer at Excelitas.
The LINOS UV F-Theta Ronar Low Outgassing Lenses for the 340 nm-360 nm wavelength range are perfectly matched to the LINOS UV Beam Expanders with Low Outgassing 1x-4x for the same wavelength range. For applications where outgassing reduction is not necessary, the new lenses are also available in a cost-optimized, colorless aluminum version.
