Fujitsu Launches New A4 High-Speed Image Scanners – 6 Models (fi-8190, fi-8290, fi-8170, fi-8270, fi-8150 and fi-8250)
With advanced paper feeding technology and new optical technology, it provides stable and reliable image quality and smooth scanning experience
Shenzhen, China, June 20, 2022 - PFU Limited, a subsidiary of Fujitsu, a global leader in scanners (1), released six new fi series commercial image scanners this spring and recently launched them in the Chinese market . The six new models include three ADF (2) models: "fi-8190", "fi-8170" and "fi-8150", and three flatbed models: "fi-8290", "fi-8270" and "fi-8250".
As the successor to the popular "fi-7160", the new model is compact, yet offers class-leading scanning speeds(3), excellent productivity of up to 90 ppm /180 ipm(4) (duplex), and a large-capacity paper feed slot that can hold up to 100 sheets(5) at a time. The new model is equipped with the world's first(6) "Auto Paper Separation Control " function, which enables smooth batch scanning of a wide range of documents, including passports and A3 documents. Users can easily complete scanning without interruptions to handle misfeeds. The newly developed "Clear Image Capture" function produces sharp and clear images that are fully compatible with data extraction and OCR processing.
In addition to the USB3.2 interface, the fi series scanners also support LAN connection. They can be connected to a computer via the network , or used as a standalone scanner with "PaperStream NX Manager" in an environment without a computer.
To date, Fujitsu has sold over 14 million image scanners worldwide(7) and continues to drive ever-increasing efficiency in organizations.
Product Features
1.Excellent scanning speed, advanced paper feeding technology, exquisite and compact appearance
• Batch scanning, easy and convenient
The world's most advanced automatic paper separation control function optimizes the paper separation torque according to the number of papers loaded, achieving an easy scanning experience. Equipped with a large-capacity paper feed slot, it can batch scan up to 100 sheets of paper at a time . With these powerful features, combined with high-speed scanning of 90 sheets per minute , paper feeding errors and scanning interruptions can be prevented during scanning, thus saving time.
• The world's most advanced paper protection technology provides complete document protection
In addition to iSOP technology, these new models are also equipped with the world's most advanced image monitoring technology. This technology can monitor image skew in real time and immediately stop scanning when the image angle exceeds the "safe" range to ensure that the document is not damaged. The combination of sound and image technology is designed to improve protection accuracy and provide a more relaxed scanning experience.
• Scan all kinds of documents at will, including passports and bankbooks
The new "Manual Feed Mode" allows you to scan carbon paper, glued documents and A3 folded documents . In addition, you can scan passports or booklets up to 7 mm thick without the hassle of using a document cover .
• New upgrades to duplicate detection to simplify card and label document scanning
Improved double-sheet detection makes scanning easier. Traditional double-sheet detection only detects double-feeds through ultrasonic sensors, regardless of document type. The improved double-sheet detection function automatically identifies thick plastic cards and documents with stickers, photos or adhesive labels, preventing them from being detected as double sheets. In addition, users do not need to switch configurations based on documents, which greatly simplifies the scanning process when dealing with mixed documents such as driver's licenses and application documents scanned together.
2. Generate highly reliable image data to meet commercial needs
• New optical technology for high-definition images
Clear Image Capture is a new optical innovation that produces high-quality images for data extraction and OCR with a unique image correction processor. This unique processor not only provides a highly accurate representation of the original scan, but also helps reduce startup time and energy consumption.
With the spectrum optimization function, users can obtain image quality similar to conventional models.
• Prevent image loss
With the Overscan Control feature, 3 sensors detect the position of the end point of the document to be scanned, so that scanning can be started and completed at the best time. This feature can also identify the skew of the document and expand the scanning area to capture the full image, thus ensuring the integrity of the image data.
3. PaperStream NX Manager supports multiple operation modes to adapt to different customer operating environments
In addition to the USB 3.2 interface, the new model also supports LAN connection. Use PaperStream NX Manager to scan using Web applications on thin clients without connecting to a computer. There is no need to install software for each device one by one. With the PaperStream IP Net function, you can switch to a network connection without manual operation. In addition, it now supports the generation of searchable PDFs .
