Mouser launches sales of Laird, Connectivity, Sera, NX040, UWB+BLE modules for IoT and industrial applications

March 14, 2024 – Mouser Electronics, a global authorized agent of electronic components and industrial automation products focused on introducing new products, will start selling Laird Connectivity’s Sera NX040 Ultra Wideband (UWB) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE ) module. The Sera NX040 module is Laird Connectivity’s new UWB and BLE tag solution, designed for the next generation of precise granular positioning and short-range positioning in industrial, consumer, medical, automotive and IoT applications.

Laird Connectivity's Sera NX040 UWB and BLE modules feature a tightly integrated hardware and RF design optimized for battery-powered applications to reduce total BOM cost. The Sera NX040 module combines the processing and Bluetooth LE capabilities of NXP Semiconductors' outstanding Trimension™ SR040 UWB chipset with Nordic Semiconductor's nRF52833 system-on-chip (SoC) to provide more than RSSI-based Basic beacon or ranging BLE function, thereby improving positioning and orientation functions. Antenna options include internal PCB trace antennas for UWB and BLE as well as external antennas connected via two MHF4L connectors. 

The Laird Connectivity Sera NX040 Development Kit can be used to demonstrate the features and capabilities of the Sera NX040 UWB and BLE module . This kit includes a development board with USB and MHF4L connectors as well as NanoUWB, 2.4GHz FlexPIFA and NFC antennas. To run the two-way ranging demonstration, two development kits and the BL654 USB adapter (451-00004) are required. To run the 3D positioning demonstration, four development kits and the BL654 USB adapter are required.
