Mouser-sponsored Vasser Sullivan Lexus Team performs well in IMSA season opener

February 28, 2022 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., a leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor focused on driving industry innovation, congratulates Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing on its success in the opening round of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Daytona (Florida) International Speedway.

Mouser and Molex are sponsoring the team's No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3, GTD Pro class, and No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3, GTD class, for the 2022 IMSA season. This season, Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing will feature Jack Hawksworth, Kyle Kirkwood, and Ben Barnicoat in the No. 14 car, and Townsend Bell, Richard Heistand, Frank Montecalvo, and Aaron Telitz in the No. 12 car.

The season kicked off with the “Roar Before the Rolex 24” series of events, which culminated with qualifying for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, where the race took place a week later, with the No. 14 car finishing fourth in the GTD Pro class and leading several laps throughout the race.

Mouser previously sponsored the Vasser Sullivan IndyCar team as a novel way to implement its performance-oriented business model while promoting innovative technologies; since then, the partnership between Mouser, Molex and Vasser Sullivan has borne fruit, with the Vasser Sullivan IndyCar team eventually winning the Indianapolis 500 and taking home multiple race wins or podium finishes.

The 2022 season will mark the fourth season of the partnership between Lexus and Vasser Sullivan, during which the Lexus RC F GT3 has won seven GTD class championships, 18 podium finishes and nine pole positions.

The team will next compete in the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida from March 16-19, the Acura Long Beach (California) Grand Prix from April 8-9, eight other races of the season, and the Petit Le Mans in Atlanta from September 28 to October 1.
