Baidu participated in the Western Electric Expo, and unmanned buses, unmanned shuttle buses, unmanned vending cars and other heavyweights were unveiled
In recent years, with the rapid development of "Internet +" and intelligent equipment, the electronic information industry has ushered in new opportunities for accelerated development. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the Western Development, the 9th (Western) Electronic Information Expo will be held in Halls 2, 3, and 4 of the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center from July 15 to 17, 2021. The exhibition site has multiple theme exhibition areas such as 5G and smart terminals, smart driving, big data and artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, etc. From electronic components to unmanned vehicles, it is an international first-class electronic information field display platform.
Apollo Intelligent Driving Information Technology (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. (Baidu) was established in 2020 and focuses on providing R&D, system integration and technical services in the fields of autonomous driving, vehicle-road collaboration, and intelligent transportation. It is reported that Baidu will make its first appearance at the Western Electric Expo (booth number: 3A217) to introduce unmanned buses, unmanned shuttle buses, unmanned vending cars and other vehicles, as well as Baidu ACE's overall intelligent transportation solution to visitors. The application scope of these products covers multiple scenarios such as intelligent networking, intelligent transportation, parks, scenic spots, and business districts.
Baidu has been deeply engaged in artificial intelligence technology for many years and has made early arrangements for autonomous driving. In December 2015, it established the Autonomous Driving Division, which is committed to the research and development and commercial application of core technologies. In 2017, it further established the Intelligent Driving Group (IDG). At present, it has formed three open platforms: autonomous driving, vehicle-road collaboration, and intelligent vehicle networking, and has embarked on a development path with "Chinese characteristics" that combines the two swords of "vehicle-road collaboration" and integrates cities, technology companies, and automobile companies. IDG has industry-leading solutions in the fields of autonomous driving, intelligent transportation, and intelligent vehicle networking.
In terms of smart cars, Baidu Apollo is helping Chinese automakers build top smart cars with a combination of software and hardware intelligent car solutions - Lego-style intelligent car solutions. This solution includes four series of high-quality, more open and assembled products: "intelligent driving, intelligent cabin, intelligent map, and intelligent cloud". At present, Apollo has reached agreements with 10 automakers including GAC, Great Wall, and WM Motor on intelligent car services such as high-precision maps, autonomous parking, and pilot assisted driving. In addition, Apollo's high-level intelligent driving solution ANP has realized a full-scenario autonomous driving mass production solution for complex urban roads.
The organizing committee learned that Nie Yuren, general manager of Baidu's Intelligent Driving Business Group Solutions Department, will attend the opening summit and deliver a keynote speech. General Manager Nie Yuren is responsible for the comprehensive implementation of Baidu's ACE (Autonomous Driving, Connected Road, Efficient Mobility) intelligent transportation engine in urban transportation, smart highways, intelligent networking and other fields. He will exchange views and discuss issues such as the research and development and prospects of intelligent transportation technology at the exhibition.
Nie Yuren, General Manager of Solutions Department of Baidu Intelligent Driving Business Group
The research and development of smart cars has a great influence and appeal on China's autonomous driving and intelligent transportation construction. I believe that the era of driverless cars in China is not far away. Focusing on the theme of this exhibition "New Pattern, New Core, New Opportunities", Baidu will continue to follow the national policies, use its own comprehensive advantages, seize opportunities and bravely face challenges, and hand in a qualified answer to the industry. Baidu will further help build China's "Autonomous Driving City", which may create a new model for the intelligent construction of cities across the country.
