At NAB 2019, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its proven R&S®PRISMON solution, which has been updated for two main applications: advanced audio and video monitoring for distribution/transmission environments, and IP baseband multiviewer monitoring for studio/post-production/broadcast environments.
R&S® PRISMON is a versatile, future-proof software-based solution family for monitoring and multi-viewing of audio and video content. It supports content transport and media formats in current and future, traditional broadcast and state-of-the-art IP-based broadcast environments. For relevant streaming environments, it also offers a comprehensive set of protocols for OTT services.
Next generation smart monitoring solution
R&S®PRISMON as a monitoring application provides broadcasters and media service operators with advanced capabilities for monitoring audio and video content in distribution/delivery environments. It uses unified multi-standard/multi-protocols to transmit media content via OTT, SMPTE 2022-1/2 and DVB. Transmission-level monitoring is enabled by a comprehensive and scalable set of intelligent functions for signal analysis, monitoring and quality control of audio and video content (such as LiveQM, video stills, content comparison and other indicators). With this set of functional components, broadcasters and media service operators can monitor real-time services from the transmission to the application level to ensure that their customers enjoy an excellent media experience.
Visitors to the Rohde & Schwarz booth can also experience how R&S®PRISMON can seamlessly communicate with R&S®PRISMON.cloud, the latest digital service from Rohde & Schwarz featuring Monitoring as a Service (MaaS).
Next generation IP baseband multi-screen monitoring solution
R&S®PRISMON as a multi-view monitoring application provides broadcasters with powerful IP baseband signal video multi-view monitoring capabilities (SMPTE 2022-1/2, 2022-6/7, 2110-20/30/40) in the most advanced AMWA NMOS-based studio/post-production/broadcast environments. For backward compatibility, support for SDI/ASI signals is also provided. Post-production users can enjoy multi-view monitoring up to UHD resolution and industry-leading low latency. The solution provides video splicing output via physical monitors (HDMI) and multiple IP streams (SMPTE 2022-1/2, 2022-6/7, 2110-20/21). The built-in editor allows users to create and modify monitoring screen layouts.
The R&S®PRISMON monitoring and multiviewing solution not only has a fully software-defined architecture that is future-proof, it is also ready for deployment on hypervisor platforms or in the cloud.
