Huawei ban lifted! China responds
On June 29, at a press conference, US President Trump stated that US companies would be allowed to continue selling products to Huawei.
Trump said that the products purchased by Huawei are very complex products produced in Silicon Valley in the United States. These American companies are great and will create jobs, so he allows American companies to continue selling products to Huawei.
The Chinese side also responded to this. Wang Xiaolong, G20 Special Envoy and Director of the International Economic Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at another press conference that if the US does what it says, we welcome it.
Wang Xiaolong said that Huawei is a private enterprise, and its information technology is in a leading position in the world. For such a company, I think no matter where it invests, it will participate in the development and construction of the local communications market and play a good role in promoting the local communications industry. Imposing some restrictions on it beyond the scope of technology and economy will definitely lead to a lose-lose situation. So if the US makes such an announcement and keeps its word, we welcome it.
