Mobile World Congress, take you to the Rohde & Schwarz booth
Mobile Internet Innovation Win-win
In this era where mobile and interconnection are changing society, the Internet of Things and new 5G technologies have undoubtedly become hot topics in the past two years. Narrowband Internet of Things NB-IoT has been highly praised by China's three major operators for its deep coverage, low cost, low power consumption, and large connections, and they have launched their own NB-IoT deployment plans. NB-IoT technology is combined with various industry applications to equip each terminal (module) with a smart brain, realize intelligent control and monitoring, and change our future world.
5G technology is not far behind. The standard has been finalized ahead of schedule. The first 5G standard will be released in 2018. Operators around the world are eager to promote 5G commercial use as soon as possible. Massive antennas, eMBB, mMTC and millimeter waves are all hot topics for discussion.
In this era of rapid technological development, every technology, every product, and every solution faces various challenges such as stability, reliability, high speed, low latency, and anti-interference. Rohde & Schwarz is based in the field of wireless communication testing and provides strong testing technology support for upstream and downstream products in the mobile communication industry chain.
At this Mobile World Congress, Rohde & Schwarz showcased its latest progress and achievements in the field of test and measurement with technical hotspots such as 5G, IoT, LTE-A, and mobile network testing. Now, please follow the editor's footsteps and walk into the Rohde & Schwarz booth to find out more.
As soon as we walked into the Rohde & Schwarz booth W4F45, we were deeply attracted by the dazzling array of test systems, solutions, test equipment and instruments. These displays attracted many industry visitors to stop and visit, and they had enthusiastic exchanges with our technical experts, generating good interactions.
The most eye-catching 5G OTA power measurement solution, the system consists of SMW200A vector signal generator, NRPM antenna and power sensor module. It supports real-time beam direction detection, beam power measurement, and beam trajectory recording. When everyone saw the R&S logo pattern drawn by the demonstrated beam trajectory, they were deeply impressed by R&S's technical strength.
Next is the latest 802.11ad-based millimeter wave enhanced mobile broadband test system, which consists of SMW200A vector signal generator, R&S®SZU100A frequency converter, R&S®UD1065 frequency converter, R&S®FSW67 spectrum and signal analyzer and R&S®RTO2044 oscilloscope. It can not only support the generation and analysis of millimeter wave signals up to 60GHz, but also support a variety of applications from R&D to production, and can achieve more functions and performance tests through flexible configuration.
Next, we will introduce the hottest IoT test solutions. The first is the NB-IoT/eMTC base station test solution based on the SMW200A vector signal generator and the R&S®FSW spectrum and signal analyzer. This solution not only supports the popular NB-IoT and eMTC technologies, but also provides AB selection options for customers to refer to. Option A is to upgrade the customer's existing SMW and FSW (there are multiple options for spectrum analyzers and signal sources), and Option B is to choose the more economical R&S®RTO2044 digital oscilloscope and R&S®SGT100A RF vector signal generator. The numerous solutions give customers more choices and can meet the diverse needs of various users in the industry.
The latest NB-IoT/eMTC comprehensive tester based on CMW500 can not only support RF, RRM and protocol testing, but also support production line test calibration and comprehensive testing. A simple instrument can complete many functional tests and performance tests, and as an ALL IN ONE test platform, CMW500 supports almost all cellular and non-cellular wireless communication technologies, further enhancing the value realization of the product.
Want to enter the Gigabit era as soon as possible? Take a look at our Gigabit LTE test system. Just two CMW500s can support 3-carrier aggregation, 4×4 MIMO and 256QAM modulation, and achieve Gigabit downlink rate. (FDD measured downlink rate reaches 1Gbps, TDD measured downlink rate reaches 750Mbps) Three CMW500s can support up to 5CC 2Gbps downlink throughput. Just one CMW500 can support 2CC, 4×4 MIMO, 256QAM. The Gigabit era has arrived, come and experience the rapid enjoyment of a high-definition movie in 2 seconds.
Many devices and terminal forms cannot do without batteries, and NB-IoT devices also put forward the technical requirement of not replacing batteries for 10 years. The battery life measurement system provided by Rohde & Schwarz can achieve 18-bit high-precision current and voltage measurement, and detect battery life and safety. The system consists of CMW500 (or CMW270/CMW290) and RT-ZVC power probe. By running the automated test software CMWrun, detailed test results and reports can be obtained with one click. In addition, it can also support battery characteristic measurements under various temperature environments and test cases specified by CTIA.
For WLAN, the 802.11ac standard is undoubtedly a hot topic recently and for a long time to come. Rohde & Schwarz took the lead in launching an 802.11ac signaling tester based on CMW270 at the beginning of this year. It supports MAC layer message analysis, coexistence interference testing and end-to-end performance testing. The same instrument can also support the latest Bluetooth 5 testing.
The compact and exquisite mobile network test equipment and systems also attracted many eyes. The frequency scanner R&S®TSMA / TSME supports 4×4MIMO and NB-IoT signal scanning, and supports multiple communication standards such as 2G, 3G, and 4G. The SwissQual QualiPoc handheld Android drive test terminal can support voice quality testing including POLQA data testing, video streaming and video quality testing such as ITU-T J.343.1, and application service testing such as Whatsapp and Line messages. The R&S®PR100 can detect and lock the location of interference sources, support user-customized radio service monitoring, detect pulse signals and superimposed transmissions, triangulate the location of signal sources in manual/automatic DF mode, and track the movement of micro transmitters. The handheld spectrum analyzers FSH and ZPH are also another powerful tool provided by Rohde & Schwarz for network customers. These equipment and solutions can meet the customized needs of many customers in operations, network equipment, and testing agencies.
In addition to the above presentations, Rohde & Schwarz also took the opportunity of the GSMA "5G Tour" to introduce its research results in LTE evolution and new 5G technologies to the VIP audience, which received widespread attention and in-depth praise from the delegates.
After visiting the Rohde & Schwarz booth, we took a look at the exhibits of our partners. China Mobile Terminal Company displayed the TS8980 LTE RF/RRM conformance test system. Qualcomm showed the application of R&S@CMW500 in NB-IoT and eMTC switching scenarios. Comprison also showed the application results of R&S@CMW500 on IT3.
