Munich, July 6, 2018 - eMTC and NB-IoT technologies of 3GPP protocol version 13 are becoming increasingly popular in the market, and the Internet of Things is transforming from a small technology to a mass-market technology. Network operators around the world usually deploy both eMTC and NB-IoT in their networks to cover all possible scenarios. Therefore, it is very important for network operators, chip vendors, consumer electronics manufacturers and test laboratories to choose flexible measurement solutions that support both IoT technologies.

Rohde & Schwarz offers unrivalled test coverage for both IoT technologies - the following test platforms have been approved by GCF and PTCRB: TP98 for RF testing, TP96 for RRM testing and TP92 for protocol testing. Each test platform has received GCF certification for work item WI-254 for eMTC and work items WI-257, WI-258 and WI-259 for NB-IoT. Test cases from PTCRB's eMTC test requirement RFT132 and NB-IoT test requirement RFT147 have also been verified. For protocol conformance testing, many test cases from the existing work items for LTE protocol versions 8 to 13 are also relevant for IoT conformance certification and are available on test platform TP92.
