[Important update on March 19] Impact of COVID-19 on component shipments
Affected by the global pandemic trend of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), more countries and regions (including Europe and Southeast Asia) are subject to work and transportation restrictions.
In view of the latest policies issued by many countries in the past few days, Future Electronics is working hard to obtain the latest information from component suppliers and our freight forwarders, as well as the force majeure impacts they may be subject to. At the same time, as the current situation is very unstable, we will continue to update the shipping information for you, and hope to gain your full understanding.
Please note: Due to the impact of the recent global epidemic, information from all parties is updated frequently, and the public account posts may not be timely. It is recommended that you pay attention to Fuchang’s official website Freight impact notification page or follow Fuchang’s public account The menu bar link in the lower right corner to keep an eye on the latest dynamic information we release on freight and suppliers.
The following is the freight impact notice updated by Future Electronics on March 19.
Dear Customers:
As more countries continue to be impacted by work and travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Future Electronics is in contact with our suppliers and freight forwarders to continue to understand how they may be impacted and will continue to update you.
Transport and Logistics:
As transportation and logistics conditions are changing rapidly in many parts of the world, we continue to work closely with our logistics service providers to minimize the impact on our supply chain. Frequently changing travel restrictions and regional closures implemented around the world to limit the spread of COVID-19 have put pressure on global air and ocean freight capacity, which has increased our ability to deliver products in a timely manner.
The following is a list of currently known restrictions worldwide that may impact our supply chain:
• Italy: Some freight companies have suspended services to Italy.
• Malaysia: Most foreigners are prohibited from entering or transiting through Malaysia.
• China: TNT shipments from China are limited to 100 kg per shipper per day.
Air cargo capacity from China to Europe has been significantly reduced.
• Czech Republic/Austria: Some operators are suspending services to the Czech Republic and Austria.
• EU: The European Union closes its borders to most travelers from outside the EU for 30 days.
Several European countries have imposed national travel restrictions.
• United States: The United States prohibits entry of foreigners who have visited high-risk countries.
Santa Clara County: Imposing delivery and pickup restrictions on non-essential businesses.
•Singapore: Singapore will not allow entry to people who have traveled to France, Germany, Italy and Spain in the past 14 days.
• Philippines: The Philippines will ban all travel in and out of the capital Manila until April 14, and FedEx said it will suspend service to the Philippines for now.
• Vietnam: Vietnam will reject tourists from Europe's Schengen area and the United Kingdom.
• Spain: Spain announced the closure of its land borders.
• Turkey: Turkey has suspended all flights to and from high-risk countries.
China:
Factories in China are resuming operations. Based on feedback from our suppliers, most have indicated that they have resumed operations and expect to gradually transition to full production in the next 4-6 weeks.
For Wuhan and Hubei Province:
While the lockdown continues, some cargo and relief flights have resumed. A small number of companies have received special permission to resume operations. We will continue to monitor progress and communicate regularly with our logistics partners to discuss the extent to which their operations in the region have resumed and provide updates as needed.
About Future Electronics' Distribution Center:
Our distribution centers are operating normally. In order to remain operational and ready to continue serving our suppliers and customers, we have put in place strict protocols to reduce the potential for an outbreak in our distribution centers.
