Microchip sincerely invites you to attend the "2021 China Optical Network Seminar"
In order to support and meet the growing demand for speed and bandwidth of 5G, cloud services and other major infrastructure projects, optical networks, optical transmission and DCI technologies are now more important than ever. The 2021 China Optical Network Seminar, which will be held on June 16-17, will bring together top experts in the industry to discuss the latest developments and evolution trends of optical communication technologies and various systems, subsystems, modules, components and DCI.
Microchip is honored to be the bronze sponsor of this seminar. Mr. Lang Tao, senior product marketing manager of our communications business department, will remotely deliver a speech titled "400G DCO pluggable modules require more flexible PHY" at 10 am on June 17th in Topic 3 "Optoelectronic Device Development Forum". We will forward the recording of this speech through social media after the meeting, so please pay attention!

Topic: 400G DCO pluggable modules require more flexible PHY |
Speech Abstract
The latest 7 nm coherent DSPs make 400G DCO modules in CFP2 or QSFP-DD form factors possible. Due to the size constraints of the modules, these pluggable modules only have 8 high-speed SERDES lanes on the electrical interface. An external PHY is usually required to provide retimer or gearbox functions. This presentation will discuss some of the features and characteristics of such high-speed PHY devices that can bring great value to DCI applications and board designs. With some additional SerDes interfaces and cross-connect capabilities, the new PHY can add great flexibility in signal connectivity, allowing both 100GE and 400GE clients to be hot-swapped on 400G DCO links. More examples will be shown in the presentation to illustrate how DCI designs supporting 400G DCO can benefit from highly flexible PHYs.
