MediaTek launches Dimensity 7300 series mobile platform to help upgrade AI and gaming experience for smartphones and foldable devices

MediaTek released the Dimensity 7300 series mobile platform, including Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7300X, using TSMC's energy-efficient 4nm process. Dimensity 7300 provides outstanding energy efficiency and performance to meet the high requirements of terminal devices for multi-tasking, imaging, gaming and AI computing; Dimensity 7300X supports dual-screen display and is suitable for foldable screen terminal devices.

The Dimensity 7300 series' octa-core CPU includes four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores. Compared with the Dimensity 7050, the Cortex-A78 cores with advanced 4nm process can save up to 25% of power consumption at the same performance. The MediaTek HyperEngine gaming engine combines the eight-core CPU with the Arm Mali-G615 GPU, and the gaming experience is significantly improved compared to similar products, with game frame rates and energy efficiency increased by 20%. At the same time, the platform also supports advanced technologies such as intelligent control, 5G/Wi-Fi game connection optimization, Bluetooth LE Audio, and dual-link true wireless stereo audio.

“The Dimensity 7300 integrates MediaTek’s next-generation AI enhancements and connectivity technologies to deliver the best streaming content and gaming experiences,” said Dr. Yen-Chi Lee, Vice President of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit. “The Dimensity 7300X’s support for dual displays will enable device makers to create products with unique form factors.”

The Dimensity 7300 is equipped with the Imagiq 950, a 12-bit HDR-ISP image processor that supports up to 200 million pixel main cameras, helping smartphone users capture works with excellent color and details. The Dimensity 7300 combines a new hardware engine to provide precise noise reduction (MCNR), portrait detection (HWFD), and video HDR functions to help users capture clear images in all kinds of lighting environments. Compared with the Dimensity 7050, the real-time focus speed of the Dimensity 7300 is increased by 1.3 times, and the image quality optimization speed is increased by 1.5 times. In addition, the dynamic range of 4K HDR video recording is increased by 50% compared to similar products, bringing richer picture details.

The Dimensity 7300 integrates the AI ​​processor APU 655, which has twice the performance of the Dimensity 7050. The MediaTek APU 655 enhances the processing efficiency of AI tasks and supports new mixed-precision data types, making more efficient use of memory bandwidth and reducing the need for memory usage.

The Dimensity 7300 integrates the MediaTek MiraVision 955 mobile display processor, supports stunning 10-bit true color WFHD+ display, and also supports the world's mainstream HDR display standard, which can present high-quality video display effects. In addition, the Dimensity 7300X supports dual-screen display of foldable screen terminal devices, helping device manufacturers to create innovative products with novel appearance.
