Famous IoT companies visit Avnet to explore new ideas for smart buildings

On May 13, 2022, the much-anticipated "Internet of Things Famous Enterprises Visiting the Fortune Global 500 Avnet and Smart Building Special Exchange Conference" was successfully held in Shenzhen COFCO Innovation Park. This conference was hosted by the Shenzhen Internet of Things Industry Association and organized by Avnet Electronic Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., aiming to discuss the future development of smart buildings through in-depth exchanges with many industry professionals.

Based on this, Mr. Hu Hao, IoT Business Development Manager of Avnet, shared with the guests the company's achievements in the field of smart buildings and related cases such as empowering partners. He introduced that Avnet's overall smart building solution is based on the IoTConnect cloud platform, and works with software and hardware OEM partners to provide customers with end-to-end one-stop solutions, which can accelerate customers' digital transformation process.

He pointed out that the overall solution covers multiple application scenarios such as smart office buildings, logistics centers, supermarkets and retail, and public facilities, and supports multiple subsystems such as access control management, security monitoring, energy management, environmental monitoring, parking management, indoor positioning, fixed asset monitoring, and office meeting place use management. It supports multiple communication methods, including collecting data from sensors throughout the building for edge/cloud analysis and processing, supplemented by various artificial intelligence algorithms, to provide customers with auxiliary decision-making, improve management efficiency, and reduce management and operating costs. At the same time, it also brings new business opportunities for OEM partners.

Mr. Liao Taofa said that as a prominent leader in IoT wireless technology in recent years, Nordic has extensive experience in supporting the development of smart cities. It not only has smart home/industrial control product cases based on Nordic BLE, Thread, and Matter multi-protocol integration, but also smart city product cases based on Nordic nRF9160 ultra-low power NB-IOT&CAT-M1 products.

Mr. Guo Changming of TE said that wireless control is a key component of the smart building ecosystem. TE provides advanced wireless solutions for wireless devices and can launch a variety of product portfolios based on the personalized needs of customers. It can be widely used in smart buildings and energy management, HVAC and refrigeration systems.

In addition to the wonderful speeches given by guests from leading enterprises, the association's executive president Yang Weiqi and secretary-general Zheng Huabing also visited the conference with member companies and awarded Avnet with a plaque of the association's governing unit. As a world's top 500 company with great influence in the industry, Avnet decided to join the association's governing unit after in-depth investigation in the early stage. After the exchange, Avnet staff organized the guests to visit the demo booth. In this exhibition, Avnet exhibited several representative solutions and products. Among them, Avnet's independently designed vital signs monitoring solution triggered extensive discussion. This solution is based on Infineon's highly integrated 60GHz millimeter wave radar - BGT6OTR13, which can detect the vital signs of the target in front of the radar, including breathing rate and heart rate, and can be used in scenarios such as breathing and heart rate detection, baby monitoring, and elderly care.
