AMD and H3C jointly release new server products based on EPYC processors

October 19, 2018, Beijing - At the 2018 H3C Server New Product Launch Conference , H3C announced the launch of the new H3C UniServer R4950 G3 server based on AMD EPYC (Xiaolong) processor, which brings higher memory expansion capabilities and security features to virtualized workloads in modern data centers. At the same time, H3C is also the exclusive provider of HPE® brand servers, storage and technical services in China. Together with the two HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 and HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 server products based on AMD EPYC processors, which have achieved great success, the cooperation between the two parties will provide differentiated choices for different demand scenarios, help accelerate digital transformation, improve IT agility, and reduce total cost of ownership.

AMD EPYC processors feature a record-breaking innovative design, with up to 32 high-performance cores based on the ZEN architecture, each core supports simultaneous multi-threading, and the entire product line has industry-leading memory bandwidth, and all EPYC processor designs have 8 memory channels. The entire product line unprecedentedly supports integrated, high-speed I/O with 128 PCIe® 3 channels, and has dedicated security hardware, leading in integer operations, floating-point operations, memory bandwidth, I/O benchmarks and loads. Single-socket systems equipped with AMD EPYC processors can significantly improve the performance of single-socket servers and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).


The just released H3C Uniserver R4950 G3 server is a new generation of rack-mounted server launched by H3C. It is 2U in height, equipped with AMD EPYC processor and supports dual-core CPU. It has excellent performance and flexible computing. It supports up to 64 cores and 4TB of memory, as well as up to 24 NVMe drives and 10 PCI-E 3.0. It can be widely used in cloud computing, Internet, IDC and enterprise market environments of the new generation of infrastructure. It is suitable for memory-centric virtualization scenarios and is an excellent virtualization platform. It provides overall solutions for various usage environments, while providing virtualization fusion management, and has the advantages of simplified deployment and optimized operation and maintenance.

The previously launched HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 and HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 servers provide differentiated choices for different customer demand scenarios. The HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 server has up to 32 "Zen" architecture cores, and the 1U rack supports 2TB of memory and 40TB of NVMe storage. Each processor has more cores and greater memory bandwidth, and the 40PCIe channels can be dedicated to connecting up to 10 NVMe devices, making it an ideal choice for processing-intensive virtualization, host services, and software-defined storage applications.

HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Server


The HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 server supports up to two AMD EPYC 7000 series processors, up to 64 cores, 32 DIMM slots or 4TB of memory capacity, up to 24 NVMe drives, and up to three double-width or five single-width graphics processing units (GPUs) for workload acceleration. The server set new world records for SPECrate2017_fp_base and SPECrate2017_fp_peak floating-point performance in the SPEC CPU2017 benchmark on November 20, 2017, and set a new world record for SPECfp_base2006 in the SPEC CPU2006 benchmark.
