Abstract: This paper introduces the principle of wavelet analysis and the specific implementation method of applying wavelet analysis to target detection based on infrared images. The multi-scale characteristics of wavelets can highlight useful information and are suitable for detecting targets in low signal-to-noise ratio environments. However, wavelet analysis has a large amount of computation and is difficult to meet system requirements such as real-time performance, which is a major difficulty in practical applications. The FPGA chip with rich resources and fast computing speed is used to implement the wavelet analysis of the Mallat discrete algorithm, and its implementation effect is analyzed.
