This paper proposes a new passive optical network (PON) composition model. Using this model, an efficient quantum key distribution scheme with identity authentication function is designed to meet the identity authentication of optical line terminals to optical network units in passive optical networks and mutual quantum key distribution between the two, as well as to achieve quantum key distribution between optical network units within optical virtual private networks. Security analysis and experimental schemes show the absolute security and feasibility of the protocol. The shared key is used as the session key of the communicating parties to encrypt the internal transmission data, and finally a quantum virtual private network is realized.
