The term bus, which originated in the computer field, refers to a line with multiple functions brought together. After being deepened and extended, it refers to a communication system between computer modules and computers, involving hardware (devices, cables, levels) and software (communication protocols). After its application was introduced into the embedded field, it was used for chip-level, board-level, and device-level interconnection of embedded systems. This book mainly deals with high-speed serial bus technology in embedded systems, with a transmission rate of Gbps. This book first sorts out the commonly used bus technologies in computers and embedded systems in chronological order; then introduces and implements the commonly used high-speed serial bus technologies in embedded systems based on FPGA, such as Serdes, JESD204, SRIO, PCIE, Aurora, and SATA buses, focusing on terminal technology implementation; then discusses the commonly used bus architectures in embedded systems, involving CPCIE, VPX, FC, and Infiniband bus architecture technologies, focusing on the design of the entire machine.
