The basis of laser welding is that a joint that exceeds the strength of the parent material can be achieved by emitting a high-energy laser beam to the parent material, which absorbs, melts and fuses together. Traditional laser welding technology relies on optical fiber to transmit the laser, resulting in a weld width of only about 1mm. This limitation makes laser welding of large components or plastic components with complex geometries a time-consuming and difficult process.
